I was sceptical and wanted to see how he fared in England this time after the disaster last time. He has answered all his critics emphatically in this first test.
He can now take his rightful place in the pantheon of GREAT BATSMEN and with these performances in this match can rightfully claim to be THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD TODAY.

ARGUMENT DONE!!!!!

I daresay that the Admin should impose a 1 year ban,on anyone posting on this board who attempt to disparage the man's batting genius.

You expect a cricket connoisseur to label someone an all-time great when in his only sojourn in test cricket in England he failed miserably, scoring 134 runs in 10 innings?
Whilst one expected him to correct that record until he did so one had to wait before the declaration of his greatness could be made.

1 century gets him all time great status?
I want justice for Tino Best

Whichever county hired him for this season should be blamed (and somehow penalized) for this Kohli's showing.

Not that I mind the grit he has shown, mind you.

22 centuries including this first test century on English soil.

I had a chance to find the statistics after great efforts.
I see where you are coming from.
WI would have dropped him a long time ago. Maybe he was a Bajan? razz
New term of reference!
Shoots, now the Bajans have another excuse "look at Kohli against England."

Australia did not play Khawaja against spinners in the subcontinent for his obvious weakness against spin.
Experts and behaviorists would say let him have the exposure, let him confront his nemesis, overcome the fears.

Anyhow, a conn*** man should assess based on sight, taste, smell, touch, sound, etc. not on statistics! razz
(My weak attempt at a comeback). smile

One might know that someone WILL be GREAT but until they do GREAT THINGS one withholds pronouncements on their GREATNESS.

POTENTIAL GREAT vs STATISTICAL GREAT
This innings CONFIRMS rather than REVEALS.
