A bunch of washed up overseas players playing ahead of our youths..

The foreign coaches don't know ah thing about the young Caribbean players so they will prefer the old internationals..

The new rule of 5 overseas players will kill it further.. Which fool decide to change it from four?

Is time the WICB bring back a regional t20 tournament!

India got a local T20 tournament used by the IPL to identify new local talents.. all we got is d CPL..

Anyhow CPL's attraction, like the one I went to in Toronto, is to lure the crowd/tv audience to watch top level internationals.

CPL is a private entity they can do whatever they want CWI gats no input.

CWI sold the rights and must get permission from the CPL to hold any T20 Tourneys in The Caribbean for the next 50 years plus.

CWI cannot host a ICC T20 Tourney without CPL permission.

The regional T20 could of been scaled down to be just liek the OD and 4 days, played around the same time as the Super 50
So you still have a feeder system
I watched my team with guys like Allen and King taking a back seat to some overseas players

the time for playing Int'l players just to get overseas viewers have gone

It is all about the revenues, no player development.
With the fat paycheck WICB got for selling out, they can use some for player/game development rather than eating out de money.

Dang. So WICB/CWI really sold out didn't they.

Seems like the only option to address the situation posed by anthonyp is to hope an investor or two registers a new franchise in CPL and commits it as a team that'll give local players (and coaches) more opportunities.

If there were current internationals it wouldn't be so bad but a bunch of washed up never been.

the CWI could even send in a B team,
hell I'll rather see the B team we had in Canada plus a few other guys match up against the rest Ct20 teams.

Even if they sell the rights to host an Int'l T20
they should be able to have domestic t20 leagues i'm saying liek LI, TT etc no

I get the feeling that the CWI "B" team was specially invited as part of the agreement by ICC, CWI and the Canadian reps.

CPL as its own identity is probably a different kettle of fish. Their vision is different from the GT20, and as such it may be more difficult for a select WI team to get into the mix. I wouldn't mind hearing how it could be achieved, though.

if you followed the game last night you'd have some pretty good answers to that question bobby

T&TCB had its T20 league and sponsored T20 tourneys in the past. With Administration in disarray, who knows what is going on.

CPL is the reason why people still watch WI cricket
