LICA is the worst administrative board in the Region!

What a backward set of people.

So you select your 50 over team before the 50 over tournament. Then you schedule that 50 over tournament during the Hurricane season. Yet you cannot even release the team for the Super50 but yes it is selected.

Then on top of this you are asking the island boards to come up with 120,000 us dollars each to help with the hosting of the various tournaments? Enoch is that you?

This is according to head of the sub-regional body, Enoch Lewis, who said territorial boards could shell out up to EC$50,000 per tournament every year.

“This tournament [50 overs] is being subsidised by the Leeward Islands Cricket Board and we’re asking each territory to come up with US$20,000 to participate in this tournament and remember apart from this tournament you have the under-15s, you have under-17s and you have under-19s and the cost is not going down so if you take that then you’re asking each territory to find maybe $120,000 per year to participate in these tournaments and these territories, they just simply don’t have it,” he said.

A number of teams are currently contesting LICB’s 50 overs competition in Montserrat as they prepare for Cricket West Indies’ (CWI) 50 overs tournament slated for next month. The sub-region’s four- day squad will also be selected coming out of the limited overs competition

POINT 2018-09-23 21:22:14

This is precisely why I have continuously stated in this Forum ,
that:

ALL THE CRICKET BOARDS IN THE

REGION NEED TO UNDERGO SERIOUS

STRUCTURAL AND PERSONNEL CHANGES .

Unless this is done Cricket in the Region will never ever improve . Let
me remind all & Sundry this Freaking
Fact :

THE GREATNESS OF OUR PLAYERS HAD

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY

CRICKET BOARD IN THE REGION .

It happened because most of Our Players honed their stamina & Skills
by playing Cricket in England & the
fact that Touring Teams played many
matches between the Test Matches .

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THE FACT THAT IN

THOSE DAYS ; THERE WAS NARY A

CRICKET LEAGUE IN THE REGION .

The stark Truth is that those who
bore the brunt of Our Players & Teams Success decided to put measures in place to dilute the prowess of Our Players , by changing the International Tour Schedule , and since in the Region at that time

WE HAD NO REGIONAL CRICKET LEAGUE

ENGLAND OUT OF THE BLUE DECIDED TO

LIMIT THE NUMBER OF OVERSEAS PLAYERS

PLAYING CRICKET IN ENGLAND .

As I have stated in this forum before :

MORE CRICKET IS PLAYED OFF THE FIELD

THAN ON THE FIELD . TO THOSE WHO

DOUBT THIS , WHY WAS IT THAT A FEW

COUNTRIES CONSPIRED TO TAKE THE

LION'S SHARE OF THE ICC MONEY ????

I remember a year Anguilla and Antigua were in the finals and we raised the money on a radio program with I'm an hour so Anguilla would be able to go to the game. This same deal happening years now. I also remember Herbal saying L.I does play cricket from memory.
