Imagine
Author A.R. Moxon has recently invited all men to participate in an exercise of empathy. He reframed womens experiences with assault and sexual violence and presented it in a way that most guys should comprehend
getting kicked in the nuts. At first, it sounds silly but it doesnt after you read the whole thing.
Speaking on the societally-macro level, empathy has been largely a one-way street when it comes to gender dynamics, Moxon told Bored Panda. In my experience, women are empathetic toward men, while men tend not to be particularly empathetic toward women.
Put another way, women have to think about what men are feeling as a matter of survival. Men arent in a similar situation, and so, if they dont want to, they dont. And, by and large, we dont want to.
When women tell their stories of living with danger and vulnerability, and of survival from assault, our first instinct appears to be to protect ourselves from personal culpability and accountability; we certainly saw that dynamic play out as the Kavanaugh story developed.

My take is that forcing anyone to do
something they do not want to do is
not the Right thing to do .
I am only expressing my opinion here ,
I am of the opinion that Romance ; Sex
etc MUST BE MUTUAL , which means that
both persons faculties are not impaired by pills ; Alcohol etc.
Quite frankly taking advantage of
anyone when they are impaired should
in my opinion is abhorrent .
In essence both persons must be sober , and agree that they are both
willing to engage in Intimacy .
Having sex with some one who is impaired due to being drunk , or has
been drugged etc , cannot & must not be deemed as having consent .
IN MY OPINION BEING INTIMATE MEANS
THAT BOTH PERSONS OF THEIR OWN FREE
WILL AGREE TO BE INTIMATE WITH EACH
OTHER .

After centuries of encouraging young men to sow dere wild oats with no guidelines on how it shud be done, did we expect anything different.
Boys felt that it was alright to cop a feel because it was a way of determining if a girl was into them. Young ladies were not sure what to do. Shud dey report any touch or only those from boys dey din like.
Thankfully such caveman behaviour is being shown to be inappropriate and we trust that young males are learning a valuable lesson

I have heard about the abhorrent
practise of Men having sex with Dead
People . My take is that those who do
this should be in a Mental Institution
for Life .

Very insightful but unfortunately, men are not going to change much. Even the most educated men amongst us have been known to do stupid things when it comes to sex.
I may be guilty of some sexist behaviors but none of them include unwanted touching or other unwarranted activities.
I always get permission.

I grew up with a very healthy respect for women. My mom and the women in my community in general were hard working and courageous. My mom is a woman of indomitable spirit and incredible strength. It is very hard for me to understand how any man can abuse their partner or women in general. So I am totally against any form of violence towards women. How a man can get an erection when a woman is kicking, screaming and fighting is perplexing to me. In my opinion, women are much stronger than men. The world will definitely be a better place if more women were in power.

Indeed. For those people, it's the power, the dominating, that's a turn on. And obviously in those instances, a crime. Society needs to be tougher on those persons.

Sorry for the delay....
Women are the foundation of our societies.
Respecting humanity has no gender. Both men and women need to respect the (basic) tenants of decency, consent and relinquish antiquated roles, both passive and aggressive - as we define relationships with our partners.
The message of empathy is not unique to either gender. I have encountered some cold heart, bitch-for-no reason women - and for sure I know some males that are flat out jackasses who will never respect women. Men and women reflect the values they are raised with. The reality is few males have good role models in their homes....
Empathy is a distinguishing factor of civility. Decorum and social protocol is "new" to many men, who for generations had an entitlement mentality... Thankfully, weak men who previously hid behind "masculinity and machoisms" are eviscerated by the empowered, independent, dominant women that are breaking old foundations and charting equity for the future.

well said. I have noticed that a fair number of people lack even a modicum of human decency.

Well said although I'm not sure more female leaders solves much. Sadly mothers are responsible for a significant part of their sons' attitude to gender.
Society needs fundamental change related to gender related socialization.

Agreed Chrissy. Growing up there were definitely double standards the way girls and boys were raised. Even here in Toronto, my niece who was a talented athlete was discouraged from pursuing sports by here father.
Definitely men need a change of attitude regarding women. What is bothersome is that men who were raised by single parent mom still have that disrespect for other women..
Just look everyday in Guyana newspapers and see how men killing and abusing their partners. That level of depravity never existed there when i lived in GT.

In my opinion Intimacy is about persons enjoying each other willingly . In essence it aint a pleasurable encounter if one of the persons engaged in the encounter is being forced to be Intimate .
Obviously that reeks of Dominance , which is in essence akin to being a One way Street . The fact is that there is a Law in the Books that prohibits such asinine behaviour .
Cosby had money, if he wanted sex he
could have enjoyed himself at the
Mustang Ranch , the difference is that he would have had to open his wallet .
If he had done that He would have been home with his wife today . It seems that some men relish using their sexual Organs , rather their brains . They have no one else to blame but themselves .
It is better to be governed by the
Head on One's shoulders than the head of One's sexual Organ .

You are stating the obvious.
That can also be interpreted as rape.

Women do have the power to change this but I think, secretly, moms want their sons to be mocho.
