However, I must accept that for me to preserve my longevity as a professional cricketer, I must do as others before have done, leave the international arena for the next generation of players.

Walk good DJ Bravo. You done well. And thank you for your outstanding service to West Indies cricket.

'Pull out Dwayne' of the Indian tour circa 2016 is what sticks with me.
Thank you for leaving us Mr Bravo because your mind has always been focused outside of the West Indies.
One of my least favorite regional cricketers.. Go quietly into that good night I will not miss you.

Bravo probably got the message thet a WC selection for next year not in the cards. Surprised that he retired from the T20 format though.

Any West Indian player that can retire on his terms has done well.
There arent that many that can say that

One of the better allrounder WI has produced. If only WI cricket administrators had some commonsense they could have used him for WI cricket much better.
I believe he can have another 3-4 years of peaceful franchise cricket without the clutches of WI cricket board.
I still remember the match he won for WI against India in the last over... Yuvaraj Singh bowled with 2 runs needed.
I saw his international stats. 86 wickets in 40 games, batting average of 25. Really average numbers though.
Perhaps the most over rated international player in recent times.
Franchisee cricket is probably his thing and he needs to focus on that

I love your way of taking the wickets from Tests and Batting average from LO cricket...
Tests - 40 Tests - 2200 Runs @ 31.4 and 89 Wickets @ 39
ODI Cricket - 164 ODI - 2968 @ 25 and 199 wickets @ 29
T20 Cricket - 66 T20s - 1142 @ 24 and 52 Wickets @ 28
Interestingly, in ODIs, only Walsh and Ambi have taken more wickets than Bravo. Walsh has 227 wickets off 205 matches and Ambi 225 wickets off 176 Matches.
Globally only 43 Players have achieved the feat of 2000 runs and 100 wickets in ODIs. Bravo is one of the 3 from WI in that list. Other West Indians in that list are Hooper and Viv.
Keep burning
A very underrated cricketer.
Under-used by Wondies Admin.
Underappreciated by Wondies fans.
A very talented and very good cricketer.
Injuries prevented him from achieving greatness.
Retire well my bwoy.
Don't let the haters get you down.
Three cheers!!

Are those superstar numbers? A tag thats often associated with Dwayne bravo
I THINK HE IS OVER RATED
a good cricketer nonetheless, who could have done much more on the international scene, will always be remembered for the indian tour pull out
enjoy your retirement, play the franshise cricket in SPLs that you love so much

They're great show pony numbers! Every catch celebrated like he caught the holy grail after a 100 foot drop, every wicket celebrated like he had bowled Bradman, Grace, Tendulkar and Richards rolled into one.
Outside of that he was a very average cricketer who will be remembered, and not too fondly at that, for his over the top, narcissistic celebrations and leading the abandonment of the Indian tour, than anything he ever did in a cricket match.
A career of 'what could have been' at the top level.
Nobody would begrudge anyone making a fortune on the T/20 circuit, but the blatant disregard for representing the Windies, particularly putting his IPL above them will not be forgotten.
A great athlete, but someone above himself.

One his own terms?
Wasn't he not recently as this year begging for a play?
Well Bravo tried hard to reform West Indies Cricket from the corrupted dictators who have invaded our game.
That fight was against not only the WICBC, but also against his own "board" the equally venal TTCBC. He was the undisputed leader that showed the WICBC how players can stand up against their brutal bullying without facing starvation- by T-20 globla circuit, a template that alllowed many West Indian stars the ability to earn a living and feed their families while providing first class entertainment to millions of fans
It is estimated, The WICBC and the TTCBC together collected millions in fees from his T-20 teams
Bravo never wavered, never gsve up on Trinidad and the true West Indies Circket, he was never afraid to to heap scorn on the CWI crooks and the fans of the CWI.
Well done Bravo, our best modern day captain, a true leader and a true patriot.'
History will be very kind to him and when we finally remove the cancerous CWI from our cricket, we will owe Bravo a lot of gratitude for his stance and leading the way on the resistance against the invaders.
Thank You Champion for you years of service TO WEST INDIES CRICKET.

New Big Dawg
You played the game and your emotion showed, it was fun.
Many fans around the world enjoyed your skills on the
field of play.
Like many before you, administrators forced you out of the game too early, they decided with vindictiveness what the
outcome should be. You were never forgiven for standing up
for players rights and administrators wanted to embarrass you till the end.
Many in T&T appreciate what you have done for cricket in this twin-island Republic when representing us and a supporting role.
Hold your head high, you stood for principles and fought for them, played the game as a true gentleman of cricket.
Thanks for the memories and will continue to watch as you play in foreign lands, Champion.
I like DJ Bravo.
I didn't like that he pulled out of the India tour. That stench stayed with him forever. I cannot blame the Wondies board for it. This is why he was never picked again.
He retired and didn't even thank West Indies cricket. That says he was burned and there is still animosity between them. Wondies cricket made his name. He's ungrateful.
Underachiever, at the intn'l level, but made plenty money with whatever skills he has at the club level.
Oh, well, I would've loved to see him at the next ODI WC, but it's obvious the writing was on the wall he's not performing admirably and won't be picked.
We have a mostly young ODI team doing excellent in India currently and all the [old] stars are trembling in their boots... oh well, another one gone.
Time to move on....
In reply to RemainsUnknown
perhaps the success of Hety and Hope against an extremely strong India, the continued development of Holder into a world class allrounder and finally his non-selection to the T20 team for the india series helped convince him it was time to retire fully

An integral part of Two T20 I World Cup Champions and a player who gave his best. A very sought after player on the domestic T20 circuit.
Thank you DJ Bravo
