Cricket loses stalwart Ambris

Left a great legacy in vincy cricket. He is largely instrumental in Ambris being where he is. Took him to play with his club Saints from a very young age.

RIP.

President of the national cricket association, Dr. Kishore Shallow echoed sentiments of the cricket circle. Shallow expressed “Ambris’s passion for cricket was incredible. His contribution as a player, fan, and parent is incomparable in our national space. I have absolutely no doubt that his legacy in cricket will live on through his sons. Thank you, Ambi!”

RIP senior Ambris.

I am sorry to hear that , when I was living in SVG , as a Founding Member of Saints I used to attend the Matches
the Club played .

He was a regular on the Team , and so was Rommel Currency who is also his
Son . At that time Sunil was about 11
years old ; and was always at the
Matches SAINTS played .

Both Rommel Currency & Sunil Ambris
are current Players in Saints Club .
My condolences go out to Rommel ;
Sunil & their Family .

May Mr. Ambris Rest in Peace ; and his Family remember & cherish the
Happy Days that they spent with their Father .

Yes they are Brothers . As I stated in this Forum sometime ago , at an International Match at Arnos Vale , Caps were thrown into the Stands ; I
happened to get one , and Sunil , then around 11 or 12 , did not get any , So
I gave him the One that I got .

Some people stated that He would be
a better Cricketer than Rommel , at one point Sunil was the Captain of Windward Islands Team .

A sad day for the Ambris family & cricket fans in the region. He was a good man as he named a progeny of his after a great Mindian batsman!

I believe that Ambris was well over
50 years old when he was playing for
Saints , He was as far as I know he
was always reliable in turning up to Play for Saints .

On cricinfo:

West Indies are wearing black armbands in support of team-mate Sunil Ambris, who lost his father a few days ago. Ambris is still here in India with the squad
