Now, I like this song, but really we are shamed when juxtaposed against real national anthems at global competitions and events such as the T20 Women's World Cup. I just listened to the SL anthem, it was beautiful as are other anthems.
"Rally Around the West Indies" doesn't cut it, it might be a nice jingle, but not an anthem.
So what is the solution?
Given our unique "cricket nation" why not use real national anthem of our respective countries in a rotational basis.
So for each territory that is independent and are no longer tied to the Queen in any way shape or form, those anthem can be used for one year and then rotate.
We can start with the Trinidad and Tobago National Anthem- how beautiful it will be.

Different anthems will confuse non West Indians and strengthen West Indies insularity.
And nations will have to secure and play multiple anthems for West Indies games which could confuse and cause errors.. Which one do we play today? Like when Grenada played the Taiwan anthem at a Chinese ceremony. Soooo embarrassing...

What you highlight is legitimate things that can come up. But these have very simple fixes. Again, I am calling for a rotational basis, so it won;t change match after match, but once per year.

Good point about 'new name' v West Indies. But this discrepancy would not have arisen if the Board had not changed our legacy and correct 'West Indies' to the meaningless marketing gimmick that was trust upon us without warning.
The name change cut us off from our rich heritage and history and that makes me mad. One day soon it will be rightfully restored because most of the Caribbean do not identify with the new name.
