HEY CAMERON, LOOK IN THE MIRROR

Emir 2018-12-09 09:01:33

The problem isn't the players "lack of commitment." No it isn't the T-20 leagues. No it isn't because of a lack of talent.

No, No No, it is because of you and the WICBC or CWI or whatever name you choose to call your self.

Players lack of trust is the root cause of the issue and for damn good reasons.

SO Cameron comes out to the media throws out some shit about players lack of commitment, and bingo he gets the entire region and others to begin a debate.

And so doing, he once again gets the public to unwittingly focus on players and not himself and the Board and the governance structure.

Imagine, in 25 years we have moved from being the top team, the most admired team, to becoming the worst in the world.

Any other company, anywhere in the world, management would have been fired and the company would have been restructured.

In reply to Emir

He does have a Mirror , it is One that
Talks , and it tells him all the time
that he is the Best President of the
Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth aka the WICBC .

IT IS THE SAME FREAKING MIRROR THAT

OTHER PRESIDENTS OF THE WICBC USED TO

LOOK AT . THE MIRROR LOVES FLATTERING

THESE JOKERS ; AND UNFORTUNATELY

THEY BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT THE

MIRROR TELLS THEM .

This is precisely why West Indies
Cricket has been , and is in a downward Spiral .

bobby 2018-12-09 09:31:51

Where else in the world does the head of a continually failing company retain his job?

Narper 2018-12-09 09:36:19

In reply to bobby

That happens when you OWN your private company...answerable to NO ONE.....and your company is being meekly subsidized by idiot governments.

Emir 2018-12-09 09:39:47

In reply to POINT

And what is worse is there appears no end in site for the WICBC and the entire governance structure compromising the regional boards.

They are happy to continue with the status quo- blaming players, T20 leagues and other competition for our demise.

I am in for a boycott.

Emir 2018-12-09 09:40:57

In reply to Narper

But the regional boards and the WICBC does not own WI cricket.

FuzzyWuzzy 2018-12-09 09:44:32

Has Cameron been president for all the 25 years in question?

Narper 2018-12-09 09:45:12

NOBODY EXTERNALLY CAN CHANGE IT....AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE FROM INSIDE

Haha. I agree with everything Cameron said.

Just because the wicb has fucked up, doesn't mean that every fuck up can be attributed to them. Think about this, if you can

In reply to bobby

The Problem is this :

THERE ARE GOVERNMENTS IN THE REGION

WHO SUPPORT THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE

WORST INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARD IN

THE COMMONWEALTH ; AKA THE WICBC .

There is a solution to the Problems of Cricket in the Region , the problem however is that some Governments in the Region are staunch Supporters of the WICBC .

The very fact that THEY refuse to join with Others in taking Drastic Action against the WICBC , demonstrates that they lack INTEGRITY ; and FAIL to realize that

THE WICBC AKA THE WORST

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARD IN THE

COMMONWEALTH HAS EMBARKED IN A TIME

OLD STRATEGY .

THIS STRATEGY IS CALLED " DIVIDE &

CONQUER ". AND THE WICBC IS PLAYING

THIS STRATEGY TO THE HILT ,

MEANWHILE THE BLINDERS ON SOME OF

THESE GOVERNMENTS BLUNTLY REFUSE TO

RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE

BEING PLAYED BY THE WICBC .

These Countries are only concerned
with ensuring that they get some Tourists Dollars ; nothing else matters to these Governments .

WHEN THE HISTORY OF CRICKET IN THIS

REGION IS WRITTEN REGARDING THIS

ERA ; I AM VERY SURE THAT IT AINT

GOING TO BE KIND TO THOSE ROGUE

GOVERNMENTS .

Keep hope alive.

I believe a boycott can do the trick.

Imagine this scenario:

Fans boycott every match sanctioned by the WICBC and Regional Boards.
Fans then sends a message to sponsors- sponsor the CWI or any cricket from them and we won't buy from you.

Governments- at least most of them, refuse to provide grounds, security services and all the ancillary services required to stage a cricket match.

Social Shaming- shame every board member and "executive" associated with the governance of WI cricket.

This can do the trick

Emir 2018-12-09 10:04:26

And I see this as an opening- similar to tactics used in the first world to place social pressure on firms and organization who are not directly responsible but responsible by association- fans can show them the power of boycott and divestment.

brians_da_best 2018-12-09 10:04:51

In reply to Emir

Why don't you start by boycotting a discussion board on West indies cricket?

FuzzyWuzzy 2018-12-09 10:05:56

Fans already doing that

Governments- at least most of them, refuse to provide grounds, security services and all the ancillary services required to stage a cricket match.

Governments divided.....many are seeking TOURIST dollars ONLY...THEY DO NOT CARE FOR CRICKET

Not as President

He has been on the Board for 25 years plus.

Served as Vice President and now President.

He has been part of the decision-making process,
the ole bwoy's club.

In reply to Emir

There are to my knowledge 3 Prime Ministers in the Region willing to take action against the WICBC .

There are at least 2 Prime Ministers
in the Region that want things left as
they are . There is at least One Government in the Region that is in bed with the WICBC .

AS I HAVE STATED ELSEWHERE THE WICBC

IS NOT DIFFICULT TO DISCERN IT IS

A TIMELESS MACHIAVELLIAN TACTIC

" DIVIDE & CONQUER "; AND THE WICBC

PLAYS THIS LIKE A VIOLIN .

Quite frankly there are Governments in the Region who are everyday demonstrating that They are devoid of any semblance of Integrity .

It is very sad that for some Tourists Dollars , some Governments
are willing to sacrifice the Rich
Heritage of West Indies Cricket .

There is no doubt in my mind as I have stated elsewhere in this Forum ,History aint going to be Kind to
those Governments .

THERE IS ONLY ONE LEGAL METHOD TO

CONFRONT AND SEEK MEANINGFUL CHANGE

IN THE GOVERNANCE OF WEST INDIES

CRICKET . TAKE THE WICBC TO COURT .

BUT SOME GOVERNMENTS WILL REFUSE TO

DO THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLIES OF

THE WICBC WHICH ENJOYS THE TIMELESS

STRATEGY KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

AS :"DIVIDE & CONQUER".

POINT 2018-12-09 10:53:38

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

NO , HOWEVER HE & OTHERS BEFORE HIM

RELISH MIMICKING THOSE WHO FOUNDED

THE WICBC 90 YEARS AGO ; AND WERE OF

A DIFFERENT PIGMENTATION , AND WERE

ALSO WEALTHY BUSINESSMEN & LAND

OWNERS .

THE TRUTH IS THAT THOSE PERSONS IN

ESSENCE SETUP AN INVISIBLE BARRIER

BETWEEN THEMSELVES AND THE PLAYERS .

THE CURRENT MIMIC MEN IN THE WICBC

CHERISH THIS TRADITION , SO IT COMES

EASY TO THEM TO LOOK UPON OUR

PLAYERS AS MERELY SERFS , AND CAN

HAVE NO SAY IN THE AFFAIRS OF WEST

INDIES CRICKET .

This in my opinion is the cause of
the animosity that those in the WICBC have towards Our Players .

It also is the reason in my opinion
why the WICBC , has a Propensity to
hire Coaches from outside the Region.

IT IS ALSO WHY THEY PERSISTS IN

STATING THAT THE WICBC IS A PRIVATE

ENTITY . NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT

THE WICBC IS USING PUBLIC FACILITIES

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ANTIGUA .

IT IS THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE REGION

THAT PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR ALL

PLAYERS ; AS FAR AS I AM AWARE THE

WICBC DOES NOT PROVIDE SECURITY FOR

OUR PLAYERS & THE VISITING TEAM .

So when the WICBC talks about being
a Private Entity that aint really True .

WHY WERE THE ICC & THE WICBC NOT IN

COURT WHEN THE GOVERNMENT OF GUYANA

TOOK THE GCB TO COURT ?????

I don’t think it will work. The islands not united on this issue. Keith Mitchell talked about WI cricket’s failing structure in the heads of government meeting last year and Gaston Browne walked out the room. Barbados is the most insular island so you’ll never hear them criticize the board once their players are being picked. Cameron surprisingly has opposition in Jamaica but he has support in a few influential local boards. And even if we do unite, the board is a private entity and the ICC has shown by their inaction that they(at least England and Australia) are quite content to have us remain where we are
sad

Judgement 2018-12-09 11:14:47

In reply to Emir

Not enough fans in the region to actually warrant a boycott, that is the problem! CWI don't care about local money, they get around $40 million per series and that's certainly not from local ticket holders in the Caribbean so its no wonder they barely market any WI series in the Caribbean to begin with lol lol lol

The Head of Marketing is some British fella on a fat salary and if you haven't noticed, him and his team do very little marketing in the region!

FuzzyWuzzy 2018-12-09 11:17:59

In reply to Jumpstart

Blame every island but Jamaica. Cameron Adams Hinds Powell etc big grin

Jumpstart 2018-12-09 11:19:17

In reply to Judgement

True. They get a lot of that money as a handout from the icc. Once the icc believes that WI cricket is worth saving, then the WICB folds up tomorrow. But there are a few officials there who are still smarting from their humiliations in the 80s and want us to remain losers

Jumpstart 2018-12-09 11:21:19

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

Adams now come and at Cameron’s first bid for re-election, Jamaica voted not to support him. But there was a fight and the boards that supported Cameron won out the second time

natty_forever 2018-12-09 11:28:23

In reply to brians_da_best...then how you explain Dowrich's non selection? They do not have any idea which players shud play which format.

Judgement 2018-12-09 11:59:26

In reply to Jumpstart

No, i am actually talking in addition to the multi million annual handout CWI already get from ICC. You have a Head of Marketing that does no marketing in the region, its a sorry state of affairs. On top of that, there is huge financial mis-management going on within CWI and it is the players that are suffering the most. I don't blame our players a single bit for plying their trade in T20 cricket around the world.

POINT 2018-12-09 14:29:38

In reply to Judgement

I would not be averse to the ICC
stating the following :

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARDS WILL BE

PAID ACCORDING TO THEIR STANDING IN

THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET ARENA .

In essence the higher your standing
the more money You will get , doing
this I am sure will wake up the

WORST INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARD IN

THE COMMONWEALTH .
