I have had numerous run ins with Batquake...Dude reminds me more of Nitro, he dropped the Evangelism after I called him a hypocrite and went all in on Politics.

I was right here wen Batquake and Bravos use to go after it...When the name calling would reach new heights and the anger was palpable.

I used to call Batquake out all the time with his false teachings on Hellfire and Trinity and immortality of the Soul!

I was the only one who used to call out Spuds and Southie on their repeated sexual innuendo and objectification of Women...I was te #metoo before it was hashtag.

I was lauged at derided by most, even Zinmma and jamgirl joined in to call me all sorts of names...

Where are they? Ran off because of the very same things I cautioned them on....

While I continue, free from accusation...

I remember using another name on another mb, i think it was rival.net or something. I went by the name of Aussie then but i was threatned with a law suit from a dude named Henry after stating that Australia will have the West Indies team for a picnic. Still cannot understand why. Actually AOL contacted me and i apologized.

Then they stopped maintaining cricket on that site.

This site opened officially as CC in this format in 2002! and all folks had to reregister as such ...
But CC was on line prior to that as far back as late 1990s - 2002 but in a different format. I've been around since and I think Larr (aka Pullo), Chrissy, ProWI aka Odlaw, Spuds Mackenzie, Narper, RumHead (and many aliases) etc etc ... Arawak, Biggie (my very good friend), WIFan, Commie, South-of-the-River, Hubert, DonD, camos, RastaMan, Buds, JamGirl, Zimma, Kami, ....
and a whole bunch of man and man

Familiar with all those people. Things were pretty friendly back then overall, outside of the sexual inuendo, very few threads were started just to tick people off.


Then people started getting bug for their breaches and airing all their nastiness here...Oh well. Man can never enjoy something without messing it up.

It was the CANA forum first, then Cricket-something-or-other on the Rivals network, and then on to CC.com. Somewhere along the way, some of us also used to post on Guisborough (and cuss out de SAfricans). Spuds was The Real McCoy (known better to some of us as The Real McBoy) and Carlos Lustradamus (the SAfricans preferred Carlos LostDumbArse, LOL).

You're missing Commie, or rather, Commentator, "Nev" (HeHeHe!) and JayMor (might have been AckeeEater). Good times, man.

No, I don't remember who. But Rivals was shutting down all sports fora (perhaps because of the AOL takeover that you mentioned), so we had to migrate elsewhere. I recall that being more the reason than a drawn-out fight. But yes, there was some out-of-order behaviour there.

Guisborough Cricket Club is still in operation but but it seems they've discontinued their message forum.

Ok, that might have been the real reason but I remember someone using a lot of profanity and posting like crazy.

He basically took over the forum and they didn't have much control over there to stop him.

It's been a while, my memory is starting to fail me on what took place but it was chaotic.

LOL, the CANA site was a big lick-dung, cuss out site. Everyone was slinging cusswords, sexual innuendos, and everything under the sun. What a disgrace!

IMO, the most colorful and incorrigible folks on here ever were...WIFan, StevieC, Zimma, Spuds and (drum roll) Rev Al (aka under all sorts of handles).

Special mention to Kami, jamgirl and Bootsie. We all miss them.

I know it's a bit off subject, but what about the one and only MarcusGarveyLives?

That poster had some unique characteristics and deserves a mention (in my opinion).

And the Yardie Flight Engineer poster? I forgot his handle.

My first foray into cricket forums was (1996)Windies Online or something of the sort and CANA. Some of the names I remembered other than what were mentioned previously were ReIncarnated One, Grubby, Ballbusta, Spectator, Rastaman.

Wackie was one of the wizkids behind this development.

Despite some of the innuendos there were some serious debates and good cricket arguments ... DonD and JayMor had great cricket facts and so did Hubert.

Passed away last year. Who would have thought that a prof at the nation's largest Catholic University would be banned for extreme profanity.
