I mentioned in an earlier post that I spent some time hiking in the hills in eastern St. Thomas, Jamaica recently - around Johns Town. It's my part of Ja. (I have a schoolmate who decided over 20 years ago to go live by himself about 2 miles from the nearest village, in the hills in the area, under very basic and simple conditions, with the bare necessities.)

Today I came across this article in the Gleaner and further reading made me realise the birders were in the same area.

Pelon reignited my interest in birds a couple years ago. I always knew that the area in St. Thomas was rich in birdlife but never had and still do not have any expertise in the subject.
