You should not worry if you dollar cost average regularly with a mix of sectors that will ensure you have some level of protection in the different economic cycles. Ten years from now you will be fine.
If you need the money that you are investing in the market before the next ten years then you should not be investing it in the markets.
Most that are trading the market may get lucky short term but 9 of 10 will lose money long term; unless they are using a super computer with their own algorithms that tracks them market in real time at super computer speeds.

Those who cackle and exult at market volatility only do so because Trump is president. Yet the market is still up ~25% since Trump's election, and up ~250% in 10 years!

I said the same thing on another thread about two weeks ago and nobody said a thing! Dollar cost averaging is all the average investor needs to understand over the long run!
