You know, we were chatting & not looking about the train; just totally ignoring everyone & everything. Here's one more...very late 80s, I was on the subway with this huge Grenadian, both coming from John Jay College...the train was somewhat crowded & at one stop, the huge grenadian step off to let a white bloke off...man, he gave a look of disbelief! He couldnt believe that this huge black bloke was polite enough to step aside & make way easier for him to exit the train, while the grenadian totally ignored him nor waiting for a thank you!!! Btw, have noticed how native born Americans would push pass you & then say, excuse me...whereas Caribbean folks (most of the time) would first ask, then try to walk past?

I am not surprised about this at all. I had a similar experience at the Hilton in China...two yrs ago.
