JC look like a real spoiler this year.

It could become a huge problem next year. big grin

I hope it's not our problem.

So KC makes a big statement in Corporate Area Champs like they did two years ago but then lost Champs.
This time it is going to be much closer.
If Calabar put a foot wrong they will be dethroned.
That means a lot of pressure on the vaunted Class One.

I keep looking for a school to pull off a Wolmers but I can’t see that.

As for projections, JC could come into their own next year.

I would not be surprised if they moved up a notch next year. Read my previous comment carefully. big grin

Did Nichols run in the 4x400?

Taylor was obviously playing/ toying with the comp.

Archangel spot on. CBar cant afford a mis-step this year.

Kobe Simpson ran the first leg. I do not know who ran the second. It was not Nichols or Murray. Could have been Richard Martin (edited). It was a poor leg. BTW the JC 3rd leg runner ran the whole leg in lane 2. As a class 1 boy he should be expelled from school. big grin

Rhoden brought KC back in the third leg and Shantamoi ran the last leg.

Jevaughn Powell seems to have injured himself when he fell down after coming second in the 200m. I hope it's not serious. We need him to run the 400m and a leg on the relay.

Still can't get over how well the hurdles group is performing. 70 points from hurdles. We even managed to get 4th and 6th in the Class 2 110mh which is our weakest class for hurdles. Do not be surprised if those class 2 hurdlers improve. They are getting excellent coaching. Wish we had a real relays coach.

Very optimistic on the performance of our hurdlers. We have improved by leaps and bounds. Nuff credit to the coach.

Two weeks to countdown.

Joe I hope your prospect Farr did not hurt himself in the 400mh final. He seemed to land badly after the 3rd hurdle, held his back and stopped running.

His coach should terminate his hurdling for this season. I was expecting him to be consistently running 46 plus in the 400m by this time in the season.

Tavaughn Martin Boys Class 3 (14 years) does sub 2 minute (1:57.48 sec) 800m at Central Champs.

800m Race

Is this the revival that has been long awaited? Maybe Class 2 will now move down to sub 1:54 and Class 1 to sub 1:50.

Since Seymour Newman,Ja has languished in the longer distance ( 800 ).

Remenber his fights with Alberto Juantorena?

Hopefully,something brewing here.

This is what I wrote above on March 3 on this thread.

Tyrice Taylor did 1:51.64 at Central Champs and barely had any competition. He is not a 'tactics' runner. He goes out hard and leads, so Farquharson cannot sit back and wait to outsprint him. Rhoden, Blackman etc are all good but will not go out ridiculously hard like Tyrice.

Are we looking at a sub 1:49 at Champs?

Tyrice Taylor took apart a super 800m field yesterday. It was not pretty. The runner from St. Mary High was the first casualty at 480m. Rivaldo Marshall and Conroy Ellis were taken out of their depth and Marshall who looked so good over the past 3 weeks never recovered, was disengaged by the 500m mark, and stopped running after 550m. Farquharson tried to recover on the backstretch and lost more ground when Reid passed him like a bus at 600m. He stopped at 650m. The JC pair ran a good race to register 3rd and 4th and yet Taylor made them look ordinary. Only Tyrese Reid could hang on at the final bend and stayed with Taylor until the last 50m. Only 5 of the original 8 finished the race. The CBar Distance Squad will not post this video.
