Crandon new CWI assistant coach
In reply to anthonyp
Yes indeed...

Rightly deserved considering the performances by Guyana over the past few years.
In reply to WICFan
Jamaicans really get treated differently in the CWI set up because when Jamaica was dominant winning the 4 day tittle for 5 years straight Coach Junior Bennett's name wasnt even mentioned as a contender at the regional level. Anyway all the best to Crandon, here's wishing for his success.

Maybe so, but I think it gives a nod to domestic coaches.
Almost every time I hear about a Windies coaching vacancy, it needs to be a 'local coach'. Looking at results, it's hard to overlook Crandon for a coaching position in the senior squad.

Crandon has certainly earned this.
I just hope he gets a long run.

Not disagreeing at all as a matter of fact I am on record of saying that I would have liked to see a local coach replace Law as the team's head coach. So I am genuinely happy for this news because not only has Crandon done well with the Jaguars but he is also a young man so I am wishing him success, my only point is I wish Junior Bennett was given a similar opportunity when he was the best coach in regional cricket.

Congrats to him. Good to see hard work being rewarded.
Who will be taking over for him?
In reply to TyTy35
Jamaicans don't really deserve anything
Was watching game vs Windwards on YouTube. Turned away and came back and seeing video from this morning and not the Windwards second innings.
In fact the message on the game icon said it streamed 20 minutes ago.Really wanted to get a glimpse of the two quicks,Leveridge and Thomas
This is a night game too. You can't make this shoite up.
No loss; there is always NFL games and will be rooting for Eagles later to take out the Bears.
Anyway, well deserved Crandon.

At the time when Jamaica was winning it was due to Tamar Lambert according to Jamaican posters right here. Not once did I hear the name Bennett mentioned..... nuh true?
Congrats to Crandon. Hope a local coach gets the Head Coaching job soon.Kudos to CWI.

Congrats to Crandon.
When Slippie talks about the SE Caribbean Cricket team it irks certain folks. If it had no truth they would not find it irksome.
Bennett name was mentioned every week for coach and fatbert was mentioned every day for captain.
In reply to TyTy35
Fair enough
In reply to Kay
Not true.
Lanberts Name was certainly prominent at the time. But coach Bennetts name was also mentioned as deserving of a coaching position in the WInsetuo
Well deserved. Esuan Crandon works hard and gets along well with the players.
Now we need a batting coach / consultant. It is extremely important we get one
Another masterly stroke by DD. Now he has all the Muddies singing his praises.
In reply to hubert Bennett is no longer the coach.
In reply to Kay not true.
In reply to Maispwi… good move or not? Cause is not only Muddies it seems.

Not too long ago there was heated discussion about the transperancy or lack thereof of the Board's hiring process. Was it only as a result dat foreigners were the ones hired?
Was the Assistant Coach post advertised or does the Board reward coaches as it sees fit in these instances?
Not because Crandon is a popular choice should the process be sacrificed.
In reply to Maispwi… I think it is a good move. Just like players are awarded with promotion, so shud a coach. Altho for me a coach at this level is redundant. Our best coaches are needed at the U17 level.
