Are we better off or worse off because of it?
Does it make for a better and more respectful society?
I personally think we are better because off it.

In time. Right now tensions are still high but as things get resolved and some of the issues that led to this get addressed, society should be better off.

Men have to learn to treat women with respect. (Intellect, wisdom, knowledge, abilities etc)

Men also have to be sensible and not allow themselves to be alone with women in the workplace place. Have a third person in the room if necessary.

True, but there are other measures like an open door or room with Windows, etc.

I have always been very professional at work regardless of gender or appearances. Women are comfortable around and some are even friends. I learnt a lot from a couple of them and value their technical knowledge and mentorship...They know this.
