In reply to sgtdjonesAgreed,Carriah was looking very good so to Simmo, but Carriah should have played for lunch and not launch such a square cut,it was hit really hard,I didn't see the catch but they said Springer took a brilliant catch.Did you notice Springer running on the wicket, the umpire hasn't warned him but keeps indicating he is running on the wicket.
In reply to sgtdjones
Yeah, batting against Stoute n Mindley
Simmons just waltz dong the wicket and tonked Chemar Holder for a big six, next ball Chemar lick Simmo on the crown jewels ,him dong in pain.
In reply to tc1
So dem cyah bowl if so yuh shouldn't pick dem,you thought they would run through TT,some good wood passing by Mohammed and Simmo. When TT reserves was getting hammered we never cry,so tek dat.
Mohammed's 50 contained 10 4s,some lovely square cuts in that 50.Simmo 86 no...191 fuh 3.
Good century Simmons
In reply to granite
This is Simmons first game since December 2014. Thus far, he has totally dominated every bowler and not once has there been an appeal, not even a muted one. Not one ball has beaten him
simmo to replace Braff in the 3rd test
In reply to Emir
Simmons should have had a longer stint, instead of the 8 test matches he played, but Windian selectors know who to give long run to,men like K.Powell and so much more.As you pointed out after 4 years out of,regional 4 day cricket comes back and is literally toying with a good bowling attack. He looks as if he never stopped playing,Mohammed is also looking very good with some lovely flashing square cuts.

Barbados lacking a front line FC spinner a Benn,Ryan Hinds,Ryan Austin, Winston Reid, Warrican, Kenroy Williams...this is the second match they allowed Walsh Jr to sit out....up to now still can't believe they wouldnt play the legspinner in the last match vs the Windwards....the forgetting how Marshall had to bowl legspin against them once?
In reply to sgtdjones
Thief is English more force is required in the Caribbean parlance so teef more suitable.
In reply to analyst-kid
is Nurse hurt, he only bowled 6 overs
In reply to tc1
Nurse is no frontline spinner...he is a back up spinner.
He going for runs too...captain has no spinner to tie down the scoring that is why 300 on the cards already.
Benn Warrican or Chase would have halted this Trini advance and taken wickets.
I always wonder why Carter doesn't bowl spin....he can you know.
But this is a first day Kensington pitch...Moen Ali and the other guy Eng bought couldnt stop the WI either.
But guys esp like Benn Warrican and Chase on even a first day track would challenge regional players
Don't worry Bim allyuh have one good bowler who could soon spring into the Windies team, yea you right,Springer is the name,he clean bowled Khan with a beauty and was the best bowler for Pride today.
Another thing...why do the Bajan selectors drop their fastest bowler Harding at Kensington? this is the second time for the season.
The first hour will always have something for your fastest bowler
Another thing...why do the Bajan selectors drop their fastest bowler Harding at Kensington? this is the second time for the season.
The first hour will always have something for your fastest bowler
At 316/8 Trinidad has fallen away...they need to dismiss Trinidad cheaply cuz the Bajan batting not too strong!
In reply to analyst-kid
The strip is good for batting, if they played Harding , one of the allrounders would have to be out.
a good comeback from the bimsters.
In reply to tc1
You realise Mindley leading the Bajan bowling so far in all the matches he played?
He didnt play last match vs Windwards...they seem to have a rotation policy.
This Pride team although missing most of the first team will be affected more in their batting,as they have showed in the previous matches. The 315 for 8 so far by TT may be enough to get a win,Springer was the best bowler but only got 1 wicket but all the rest are fast enough to be a problem for anybody.
In reply to granite
Pride struggled to get 250 against the Windwards in both innings. Im thinking Windwards bowling stronger than Trinidad on this pitch.
In reply to analyst-kid
yes, give the youngsters time, the trio of harding , Holder and Drakes as well as Mindley will come good, in fact I like young Drakes with his left hand out swingers.
In reply to tc1
Drakes not playing. He is a good prospect.
In addition to the test players, the loss of Kenroy Williams to Jamaica is also a big loss to Pride.
His lower order Batting and spin bowling has already helped Jamaica to gain victory this season...today Jamaica were 172/6 and when he was dismissed for 33 Jamaica were 230/8....now they are 318/8 against the Guyanese.
In reply to analyst-kid
Did Shilly play against the Pride,I say we may have enough runs because your young leg spinner Aaron Jones was getting some turn on the first day,so I'm thinking Khan might be a handful,Charles is also one for the future.Nurse don't seem interested in playing regional cricket.
In reply to analyst-kidWow,didn't know Kenroy Williams was Bajan, looks like Bim have all the cricketers.
In reply to granite
As I stated earlier Barbados lacking a frontline spinner. Benn particular with his bounce, Warrican with his accuracy, Chase with his bounce and accuracy are always a handful at Kensington.
In reply to granite
Last year Warrican Walsh Jr and Kenroy Williams destroyed Trinidad at the Brian Lara complex now this year a part time spinner plays while Walsh Jr sits at Kensington!

Respect to Bim they always produce and they don't give up that easily,I hope we can win but The Pride may have other ideas.

he is carrying an injury, he may be the best of tis young group.
Did you heard the comms said that Chemar gets up close to 90mph. I know that Harding reaches those speed.
Chemar has pace and he is very fit. Once these guys under Drakes and Collymore's tutelage look for Harding Chemar and Drakes to boost WI reserves.
WI has bowling reserves through the region to serve them for the next ten years.
But unless Pride bat out their skins I expect that 300 odd by Trinidad to win the match for them at Kensington....but I EXPECT A FIGHT FROM THE PRIDE
Remember Alzarri and Chemar were the two pace spearheads of the victorious U19 WC team? Backed by Paul and Springer to compete the four prong?
It looks so strange that the Bajan duo of Chemar and Shamar are left behind but methinks one of them will spark in this match vs Trinidad before it is over....watch the ride.
In reply to analyst-kid
The Partnership between Simmons and Jason was key to T&T score, it is now up to the guys selected to bat.
Carter has to lead the batsman, and Stoute has to show, his years of experience, merit selection at the regional level.
I am a Springer fan, and look forward to his batting tomorrow.

Considering that our leg spinner Walsh Jr heaped damage on Trinidad last season...could you explain why they could have made 358 and our leg spinner sitting on the bench while the Red Force legspinner Cariah wreaking havoc?
These Bajan selectors this season are the worst I have seen in all the years I know of regional cricket.

the thing is Cariah wasn't threatening Jones, Jones just gave away his hand.

Stats, history and match awareness are the basic tools of selection.
Walsh Jr avg 19.44 last year so far avg 18.00 this year and u dropped him against a team weak to leg spin like the Windwards and a team like Trinidad that he routed last year.
Nurse here getting pounded and you have no frontline spinner.

On this wicket and Barbados 5 wickets down, it wasn't a bad gamble.
On occasions, the batting team get the total
The spinners failed T&T

Pride win
Capt Carter carries Pride home.
Trinidad should have won this because of the brittleness of Pride's batting but unfortunately for them the three best Bajan Pride batsmen in the team Carter and Springer and Tevin Walcott came good.

Sarge....the Bajans come from behind and grab de Titties
Come in Tamarind Jones, see what told you, it was not Boucher, but Carter.

Agreed, but many of the test players are coming back,Primus would definely strengthen the bowling.
Springer is a top of the order bat. Kid have loads of time and doesn't let the bowling get control his innings. Youngsters Walcott, Springer, Harding and Holder must be played.

Playas back off...gi young un space.. cream rises to top aiite...
In reply to che
Not when they just get put back on the back burner. AlJo, Hetty and Kemo say hi. Have to be able to recognize talent and give it hands on experience to grow. Watched his and Walcott's whole innings today. Both could play as batsmen alone.

That old and stale Pine Hill Dairy cream, can't rise.

Springer batter well and gave good support to Carter, who produced one of those rare gems that we know he is capable of.
Springer did not bowl well in this match tho. Is that a reason for dropping him when the "regulars" return? Not so, in my opinion. He needs more exposure at this level to improve his skills, but that depends on the Bdos selectors investing in him.
The Jaguars selectors have been better at investing in players they see as "one for the future" than the other regional boards.
