Mark Ramprakash, the England batting coach, has revealed he won't be part of the Ashes later this year. The former England batsman made the announcement on Twitter on Friday (March 8 ).

"I've just been informed that I will not be involved in the Ashes series. It's been a huge privilege to support the team over the last five years. I'd like to wish all the staff and players the very best of luck for the future," Ramprakash tweeted shortly before the start of the second T20I between England and Windies.

I have never been sacked from any job but I am always amazed at how some people on being sacked always say nice things about those who have sacked them and display no bitterness whatsoever.Kudos to them.

Its called professionalism, I have been sacked a few times in my career and not once did I say anything bitter. Now well into my retirement, I have no regrets

I like this process, and nothing against any individuals but just the process: The team was resoundingly beaten by a much lower ranked team and the batting coach is relieved of his duties. I call this accountability. And well done.

Why are you surprised? In international sport only West Indies doesn't hold someone responsible for failure. Not that it is always warranted.

It's the principle

I have never applied for a job that I did not think I could do very well.I have been encouraged to apply for a job that I did not think matched up to my skill set and I declined to apply.

the England top 3 are hopeless and Joe Root wants to stay @ #4 so Ramps was not getting any help from the skipper to steady a sinking ship..

He should have offered his resignation.
That was the professional thing to do.

It'll take a real good coach to find a decent top 3 for England.

FC Cricket seems to be an afterthought for the ECB.
