A syrian Calypsonian - Mighty trini (Robert Elias) was singing about tabanca for curry

Well not really
It was a hit because it was good- people liked the flowing lyrics.
Mighty Trini is not Syrian- he was born in Trinidad, his parents came from modern day Lebanon
He did not sign about tabanca for curry, but tabanca for an Indian girl friend- she left him.
