HEADLINE: CWI asked to clarify budget overspend

CRICKET West Indies (CWI) has been asked to present its most recent financial statements dating back to 2016 in the wake of financial impropriety allegations by the Ricky Skerritt-Kishore Shallow campaign team, who are looking to displace the Dave Cameron regime in the upcoming elections on March 24.

CWI issued a press release on Monday clarifying the liability issue and payments owed to former coach Phil Simmons regarding his dismissal, and also addressed statements made by Skerritt's team. Skerritt's slate suggested current president Dave Cameron greenlit of the expense budget allocated to himself, with Skerritt indicating Cameron's tenure had caused "significant damage" to the board in both financial and reputational terms.

CWI stated that it was not Cameron himself, but CWI's Compensation Committee who recently agreed an increase in the president's monthly expenses: US$4,000 for the president, US$2,000 for the vice-president, and US$700 to all other directors. The committee was appointed in late 2017 by CWI's board of directors, and is chaired by Anand Kalladeen, the chairman of finance, alongside two independent directors, Jennifer Nero and Milton Samuda. Johnny Grave, the chief executive, sits on the committee in an advisory capacity, but Cameron himself is neither a member nor attends meetings, with CWI making it clear the president had nothing to do with this.

Its this type of crap that is corrupt. No decent organization will permit an arrangement like this.

For example, monthly expenses at $4,000, what if he spends less than this amount per month- does he get to pocket the rest? Instead of this corrupt set up, it should be that his approved and legitimate expenses is reimbursed. For high ticket expenses, a process to pre-approve must be in place.

Secondly, what are his monthly expenses for? In every organization, expense reimbursement is itemized and justified as a bona fide business expense.

We need to see Cameron's and the Board members expense reports each month.

This free spending is money earned by players's blood, sweat and tears and every penny must be accountable for and no penny must be spent carelessly.

Frankly Speaking I am not Surprised .

ARE YOU ??????

I remain resolute in my belief that
ALL Cricket Boards in the Region
must be Completely Restructured .
This must include New printed Rules & Regulations .

Once this is done there must be a
serious search for Competent Representatives for ALL the Boards in the Region .

Obviously ALL current Members of ALL
the Cricket Boards in the Region including the WICBC are ineligible to vie for Positions in this New
Structuring .

Allowing current Occupants to vie for positions would be akin to letting persons who refused to change the current 90+ years old
Structure .

In that 90+ years Those in the WICBC
BLUNTLY REFUSED to Change its Structure , Does anyone really think
that They are going to have a Saul on the Road to Damascus Moment ?????

I am firmly of the Opinion that

PLAYERS MUST HAVE REPRESENTATION ON

ALL CRICKET BOARDS .

This hopefully would put an end to this asinine belief that has pervaded West Indies Cricket that
Our Players are SERFS .

Yes Sir, this is the key.

Although I support of Cameron, I am under no illusion that a Skerritt presidency is the end game- I see it a step in that goal of dismantling and replacing the system.

Since 2003 I have been in this Forum calling for a Complete Restructuring
of Cricket in the Region .

I firmly believe that any Restructuring in the WICBC Must not
have current Members in this New Restructuring .

IMAGINE , HINDS ; CAMERON & WEHBY

BELONG TO THE SAME CRICKET CLUB .

SO THE FACT THAT WEHBY WAS THE HEAD

OF THE REPORT THAT WAS COMMISSIONED

SOME YEARS AGO .

Interestingly that Report has never
been heard or seen . Yet People in
the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , are lining up to Vote for Cameron .

Interestingly , the many FAUX JOURNALISTS in the Region bluntly Refuse to enquire about the WEHBY
REPORT . They prefer to worship
Cameron than ask about the Wehby Report .

Now with the Bums covering for Cameron & Co in the WICBC , there is
absolutely no Prospect of West Indies Cricket Improving .

What is freaking shocking is the
freaking fact that supposedly Respectable People are buying into
this Colossal Charade .
