Law and Pybus?

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

Nah - there was another acting coach

Walco 2019-04-07 15:05:41

In reply to Chrissy

I think there were two other interim coaches. The South African who replaced Law for a brief period and then Floyd Reifer for a T20 series after the South African jumped ship

Did the saffie even take up the job? Hence the need for floyd

I may not have been on the same side of the election with you but I concur.
wink
Skerrit has be careful of vindictiveness like Cameron.

From outside looking in, I am most interested in cricket development and good governance.

Law left following the tour of India in October with South African Nic Pothas taking charge of the subsequent Test and one-day series against Bangladesh.

West Indies ended the tour with Barbadian Floyd Reifer in charge for the three-match Twenty20 series.

You need to take into consideration
the fact that the WICBC is 90+ years
old , it has commissioned several Reports , yet none of the salient Features of those Reports have been implemented .

This then begs this salientW Question;

WHAT THE HELL WAS THE PURPOSE OF

COMMISSIONING THOSE REPORTS ?????

My perspective is that this was the
Modus Operandi of the WICBC to
Bamboozle the People in the Region
into believing that there will be
changes , when in fact the People in
the WICBC had & have absolutely no
intention in changing is archaic Structure .

Quite frankly this modus operandi of
the WICBC has been successful for many years . Time will tell whether
Skerritt & Shallow are up to the task of stopping this continuous
Charade .

The Board's own rules were violated for that Pybus appointment

I did not realize this thread would expand in so many disparate directions so let me be more specific.

I have not read any of the many WICB 'restructure' plans floating around but, I've always opposed adding more layers on top of an already bloated structure. I will support making the management structure leaner not fatter. Start by reducing the number of directors. What do they do when they are not voting? How much are they being paid?

And what is the Vice President's role and could it be eliminated if he does very little?

Trump is now thumping his chest about the good economic numbers in the US but, is Obama of the past, the real architect of that success? Cameron expanded the professional pool for both men and women and seems to have been fiscally astute? Will his role in future West Indies successes be downsized like Obama's?

I like Skerrit's idea about expanding the vote. Give the fans and the greats like Lara and Viv a say in governance.

Look, I just want West Indies to win again, and consistently. And without the politics. And I wish Skerritt success but I've seen many past 'saviors' win elections by waving 10 point plans and in the end, affect little improvement.

If board rules were broken in appointing Pybus then fine, as a matter of principle he should be removed immediately. But that point has to be clearly communicated.

The wise thing to do.

With ALL due Respects , Politics in
Organizations is inevitable . However
that & other problems can be overcome
by having a Very Good Structure ; and
Persons willing to put the Entity before their personal Goals ; and a
willingness to ensure that the Structure is very well served by those
who are Leaders in the Entity .

This obviously would require Persons with sterling Characters , and willing to put the Organization before their personal goals to ensure that in the Region the WICBC
would be akin to a Lighthouse , shining in the dark .

The Question is are there People in
the Region willing to do what needs to be done to make Our Players once
again be the Best in the World ?????

Time will tell whether those in the
WICBC are up to the task to do what
needs to be done ; or would they like others once again Fail US .

TIME WILL INFORM ALL OF US WHETHER

THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION IN THE

WICBC ARE UP TO THE TASK ; OR LIKE

OTHERS BEFORE THEM IN THE WICBC FAIL

THE REGION . TIME WILL TELL US .

Reality check: Very few people in the world today fit that description.

There are in the Region Persons who are Cricket Fans and are of Sterling Character. They may be in the Minority
but they are in the Region .

I would have no problem , if some of our Former Great Players are empanelled to be an Advisory Entity
to advise the WICBC on Cricket Matters .
