The 38-year-old Samuels, a veteran of 207 one-day internationals, was a notable omission when the Robert haynes-led selection panel announced their 15-man squad for the May 30 to July 14 showpiece last month.

More surprisingly, Samuels was not included on the 10-man reserve list announced last week.

Samuels helped West Indies secure their World Cup berth last march in Zimbabwe, scoring 231 runs an average of 33, as the Caribbean reached the finals of the qualifying tournament.

Bravo is living in the past, he is not looking at the bigger picture, there comes a time when people have to move on.

He was the one who chose to stay home and play for the proven ungrateful West Indies while his colleagues were off self benefiting from the world cricket leagues wherever.

Sammy was de Board favorite son and poster child during Hunte and Hilaire regime.

When Gayle first came back into the team during Sammy’s captaincy, Sammy’s first words were to utter words to the effect that he hopes Gayle doesn’t upset the chemistry the team has achieved under his leadership.

With the advent of Cameron’s Presidency, Sammy suddenly find “religion” and siding with the same players that were ostracized under the Hunte & Hilaire regime.

The point is, things change, players change, and they don’t appear to tote feelings....certainly not as much as some fans do

Samuels deserves to be in the squad, he won two WC for WI and without his efforts there would be no WI team at the current WC.

I think there was a fitness issue at play. He has not played any meaningful cricket since December last year and managed 134 runs in 134 runs in 8 innings

Dont expect to get an answer to your logical question anytime soon. Samuels was available to help the Windies qualify because he had no other option. Am one of the biggest Marlon fan out there, but the fact remain that ever since he got hit, he hangs back in the crease and is afraid to come on the front foot. Marlon in his prime would have been an automatic pick in this weak batting linup. The Marlon of recent times is way past his sell date and is not worthy of a pick.

Ummmm if Samuels had to be in the WC squad the only batting spot I saw available was that of DM Bravo.
