Oshane Thomas vs Jofra Archer
In reply to brians_da_best
archer mek de ting look too easy ala Michael `holding.
Hard to say.. Archer has the benefit of a better set-up.
But I'd pick Archer, bats as well
I agree, archer certainly looks better. But with the ball, Thomas seems to have the x Factor. Let's see how their careers pan out
That's even a question? Archer is a wayyyy more skillful bowler, plus he is more efficient at it.
Archer on all counts. Archer is very slippery and bowls consistently quicker

Archer...
Oshane has a bundle of potential but we know that that means squat unless you deliver...He delivered today
Archer's batting gives him the edge and he's more consistent with the ball but Oshane is very young and raw. With more experience he can be as good or better.
I also think Archer can improve too with more games under his belt.
Let's just be happy we still have plenty of young talent in the Caribbean

Archer is further along with his development. However Oshane has size, and if he improve his run up, then when he jumps before delivery, lots of folks will run.
At this time I would take Archer..down the road..I don't know

oshane needs to use his legs more. too much sholder into his bowling.
In reply to jcveletta
Holding made me bust out laughing when he said Oshane's run up is just to get him to the crease
In reply to DIEHARD
Oshane needs to work on cutting out them no-balls. It didn't matter this morning, but against them other teams they will capitalize on the free hits...
Also, against the other teams, and other pitches, I'm not sure the short bowling will work.
In reply to tops
and batsmen more or less got themselves out, like his English 5fer, it wasnt great bowling..like them drown in honey..sweet chili
In reply to tops in defence, one of those was not. Replays confirmed it.
Nicholas vs Shane...
Archer is the real deal...but fork his wannabe Pommie ass....

Thomas to Amla, FOUR runs, half-century for Amla, but not his best shot; better line (fifth stump) and length (goodish) from Thomas, and Amla went for the big shot in the cover region but only inside-edged it past the stumps, and the keeper, for four.
11.5
6
Thomas to Amla, SIX runs, it's a small ground, and at Thomas' pace, the ramp for six is always on; short, outside off, and Amla gets into position quickly to send it over third man
11.4
1
Thomas to de Kock, 1 run, further up, at pace, but very straight, and de Kock punch-flicks it to midwicket for a single
11.3
4
Thomas to de Kock, FOUR runs, short, quick, going off-stumpish, and de Kock pulls it majestically past the midwicket fielder, who could only turn to his left and saw the ball fly past
11.2
1
Thomas to Amla, 1 run, better from Thomas, on a length on off stump, and Amla guides it to third man for a single
11.1
0
Thomas to Amla, no run, A loosener there from the new man, pitched up well outside off stump, Amla went for the drive but couldn't reach it
Oshane Thomas is in now
With time and patience, Thomas will learn when and how to pick his battles.
Some experience thinking bowlers would have given Amla a slower ball or treat him with a yorker.
Maybe, Amla saw fear in Thomas' eyes and moved in for the kill.
Jason saw the setup with Amla and De Kock and what was about to happen to Thomas, and he was having none of that.
