Gosh you are starting early.

Looking to find true WI supporters. Lots of negativity to overcome. Remember a week ago folks here were telling us WI could not win a game.
If we win the toss we must bat and give Aus 350 to make. It is easier to make 350 WITHOUT scoreboard pressure than WITH scoreboard pressure when batting second.
This assumes that we know how to negate the effect of a fresh pitch. (Bat sensibly, consolidate, take the singles, aim for 6 rpo and no more than 3 wickets down at over no 35. Change gears in the last 15 overs.)
If we lose the toss be prepared to attack with 4 slips and 1 or 2 gullies. Only two men and the bowler in front of the batsman. No attrition, go down blazing.
BTW pay no attention to the commentators. They have a vested interest in two full 50 over innings. Notice they refused to condemn the half-fish half-fowl SA field placing today. SA played a good first innings for a test match today.
West Indies captain Jason Holder
Yes skipper.

In reply to Headley
Im on the West Indies positivity train. Mash dem up fellas!
In reply to Headley
I agree with those sentiments, however Jason Holder is scared to bat first!
In reply to imusic
Yes Sir. A windies and Raptors win would be Fantastic.
They finally got one of my message. Now if we would play the Angel for Nurse. I have come to the conclusion that we are introducing a new mode. "Shock and awe" when we bat or bowl.
In reply to imusic
Good morning. good to see you on the train. Did you sleep at all after the Raptors victory?
In reply to StumpCam
No sah, the skipper is very agressive since the Tri Series loss to Banga in Ireland. I think that was a wake up call.

Gotta keep the extras down....16 already
In reply to sgtdjones
Yes a bit high, but the vital number is under the W column.
When the WI was dominant some lazy thinkers made a big fuss about no balls. I feel pretty much the same about wides. As long as we are getting wickets we can tolerate some wides.
Think of it as a dirty Mercedes. Dirty Mercedes better than cleen Suzuki any day.

Tort it was a Lexus

Yuh trying to get mi in trouble.
Thomas is bowling with some fluency this morning.
Oz recovering nicely
At Carlos's pace he should be putting every ball on a post stamp.
Why do folks watch big men with massive gloves playing girly baseball, when one can watch Sheldon Cotterel do magic with his bare hands?
In reply to Headley
At his pace, every ball should be in the stands.
In reply to WIForever
Hope he makes it up with the bat.

If I was offered 268 for 8 in 46 at the start I would take it.

In reply to Headley
we let the Ozzies get away
they should not have made 200.
we had them in so much trouble , then relaxed.
10% in extras doesn't help.
this is where we lost the plot.
In reply to sgtdjones
It's not the extras. It is the failure to go for the jugular when they were 5 wickets down. Jason is not a risk taker. We need to get him to play chess.
I am disappointed that the skipper eased his foot off the metal when Aus was 70 plus for 5
BUT
If WI cannot make 289 to win we do not deserve to win anyway.
How does one eliminate a Hotarobin?
In reply to Headley
289 should be easy on this wicket with smart batting
In reply to Walco
I feel that way too. If we can't make that we're not up to scratch.
It may also be relevant that we have shown the world the approach to take to the Aus batting. That could help to limit Aus during this tournament.
These Cummins people are always troublesome.
How does one eliminate a Hotarobin?
Rallyeeeeeeeee
Sarge what are you saying now bout Aus with 10 wides in 11 overs?
Rallyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
This is a good 50 Overs team. I am convinced that a good brains trust could make this WI team great.
Hope is our rock. He must be given reassurance at every stage.
Hetty is fueled by adrenaline. Someone needs to explain to him that he must become the 'Atlas' of this team. He needs to be be given a Virat course. I am still convinced he is our best batsman.
Nurse is not the right man for the job. He may look good once every 15 games but he is a passenger. Stats do not lie. We need to invest in Paul and Cornwall.
BTW Do not even think of confusing Chase or Paint with 50 overs cricket.
The pool of bowlers are on the right course. They must be trained physically and mentally to become better. Do not select based on favor. Give each bowler a chance to show that he can get the job done. Let them compete. Roach must be rearing to go by now.
In reply to Headley
They won, we lost
In reply to sgtdjones
Sarge I hope Holder was not worrying about the wides and decided to bowl Braf and himself (with Aus 70 plus for 5) to avoid wides.
The skipper is risk averse. He always seeks the conservative option. The real question is how can that be changed?
