Hope has really come a long way with his keeping

I had to take a second look to ensure it wasn't Dujon wicketkeeping.

i don't go for all the specialist wicketkeeper talk, we need someone who give us runs and catch the ball when it go pass the batsmen, especially when there is an edge

The true test of how good you are as a wicketkeeper is your ability to keep to spin bowlers.However apart from Gibbs,Ramadin and Valentine we have never had top class spinners so that technical point in the first sentence as far as West Indies wicketkeepers is MUTE!!!!!!!

suppose there are no spinners in the side? does that make you a poor keeper?

Hope has actted himself well behind the stumps. In ODI cricket, all that is needed is a serviceable keeper to hold on to the edges when they come. and Hope has been much more than that.

Lest we forget, Jimmy Adams was the ODI keeper not too long ago.

Precisely.

From what I read, Hope is the wicketkeeper for his club in Barbados, so that looks like a specialist keeper to me, just like Pooran is the wicketkeeper for his club. they might not be top-class, but they are specialist.
