Cornwall gonna be in the WI training camp that's why he missing the 3rd match..
By the way who is Akim Fraser? Never heard about him
I find it strange that Jaguars won the 4day tournament 5 years in a row and only one player in the test squad? Where is Keemo,Bramble, Shepherd or even Hemraj?
Sangfroid
2019-06-13 21:46:55
Where the hell is Pestano, and why is Cummins there? The only reason I can see why Keemo was bypassed for the "tests" is that they are saving him for the real thing. There is absolutely no way any of these seamers can justifiably be picked ahead of him.

Jaguars despite dominating the FC for years have not had her players selected to the WI squads evenly. Where are Sanasie and crew?
That is bulls t treatment.

In all fairness, a player is not selected to senior duty based on the performance of his regional team. What has Hemraj done lately relative those selected ahead of him? There is certainly a case for Shepherd and Bramble.

That's ah shyte team.. I hope Sanasie and them say something..
Imagine Pestano had the most wickets in the last super50 .. even took a hat trick against red force star team and he can't make the squad..
I think Shepherd finished with the most wickets for fast bowlers in the 4days.. Pestano was close behind.. none can't make de squad.. instead failures like Cummins back again

Hemraj made runs in the FC games brother T-20 and one dayers at least, my point was players performed well in order for Guyana to dominate. Go check the statistics.

Devon Thomas, though, was fourth in the aggregates with 685 @ 40.29. Bramble was seventh, with 580 @ 52.72. No quarrels there.

He didn't,actually. In 6 matches, his aggregate is 350 @ 29.16. Pretty ordinary to be honest; unless you can point to a player in this squad that did worse.

If any of these blokes are in their early 30s & not on WI big team, they should step aside, give Yadram & Kirstan a break!

what is highly contentious is the non-selection of Shepherd. He is 5th in the wickets, 37 @ 20, from 10 matches. Cummins is at 13, with 26 wickets @ 23, from 8. Akim Fraser (JA) is at 22, with 20 wickets @ 28, from 4.
Sangfroid
2019-06-13 22:21:04
V. Permaul: 42 @ 21, from 10. A Nurse: 10 @ 35, from 4
CK Holder: 7 @ 42, from 4

what is extremely funny is the opportunity given to Kraigg to galvanise the team. I can think of anyone less likely ever to do so. The man has lost every senior match he has ever captained. Does that not tell the selectors something?? Anyway, sound teams although I would have liked to see more of the less experienced players who show potential for development.

All Bajan captains across all formats. FCUK!! And K. Braithwaite is too docile to captain a dog catcher's team.
This man looks and acts like sport is his third calling. He is better suited to provide gentle Sunday school lessons to neighborhood children.

Bravo is in the World Cup squad....
This seems to be a series to keep Test players like Kraigg, Campbell, Chase and Dowrich, who are not in the World Cup squad, fit for the Aug-Sept Test series against India.
Sadly, it doesn't seem to be a series to develop the next generation of players, aside from a handful of selections.
Here were the top performers of last season's PCL. How many of them made this squad?
1) Montcin Hodge (Lee) 711 runs @ ave of 39.50
2) Devon Smith (Wind) 745 runs @ ave of 43.82
3) Jonathan Carter (Bdos) 689 runs @ ave of 40.52
4) Devon Thomas (Lee) 685 runs @ ave of 40.29
5) Brandon King (Jca) 630 runs @ ave of 48.46
6) Anthony Bramble (Guy) (wkpr) 580 runs @ ave of 52.72
7) Rahkeem Cornwall (Lee) 419 runs @ ave of 27.93 & 54 wkts @ ave of 17.68
8 ) Imran Khan (TT) 438 runs @ ave of 25.76 & 42 wkts @ ave of 22.47
9) Romario Shepherd (Guy) 315 runs @ ave of 24.23 & 37 wkts @ ave of 20.13
10) Veerasammy Permaul (Guy) 42 wkts @ ave of 21.33
11) Nikita Miller (Jca) 41 wkts @ ave of 15.68

Devon Smith and Carter days are over. Imran Khan, Miller are above 30. Bramble and Permaul nearing 30s.
Rest all made the squad. But the only baffling thing is King not selected for all the tests. He is one of the young top performer and only selected for last test.

Each of the test squads is comprised of 13 players. Dowrich is in the first, Hamilton in the second. Certainly, there is a case for Bramble over Hamilton in the second squad.

What are you saying bro? Are you aware that Blackwood test stats is still better than many still in the test team before he was unfairly dropped? Anyway, lets save the arguments until after the match performance, before then it's just pure speculations.

Specialist batsman, around for a number of years, can't average near 30 in any format, makes the squad.
His brother Yannick had a great outing with the ball and should have been given an opportunity.
Akim FRAZER

Bullshit reasoning just like when the Jamaicans were doing the 5peat.
Do not mention team performance when picking players, quote player stats.

Pestano was the leading wicket taker in the super50.. even took a hattrick against Red Force.. nowhere to be found..

Bro I agree with all that.
But what I'm saying is don't say Guyanese players deserve selection because they win the 4-day a few times because you know a team without leading players can win competitions.
Say who performed well and say the deserve selection.
Guyana have had good performers who has deserved a look in atleast in the A team.
Again not because these players won with the team but because they performed well.
