Bang vs WI: "leaving 60 runs out there"

Last night on this Mason show a caller and Mason said, "the West Indies left 60 runs out there."

I was listening to them ranting about this 60 runs and I say, take a look at the big picture, Bangladesh chased down your runs with 8.3 overs left.

You have two batsmen (Shakib 124*, Das 94*) that are set and flogging your bowlers all over the place with regularity, and you are complaining about leaving 60 runs out there? Man get a grip of yourself!!

The way those two guys were batting they would have chased down 100 runs more, with overs to spare.

You two should be glad that it was all over and stop embarrassing yourself and WI cricket.

Context. Mindset. We cannot simply think of where Bangladesh ended.

Bangladesh would have come out thinking that they had to score 380+. How many times have teams scored that many runs in an ODI. How many times in this WC.

Now think of the Bangladesh score at the 30 over mark and then add 60. Do you think the Windies mindset would have been the same? Bangladesh?

On the other hand—how many times have teams scored 310 to 330 in this WC alone.

BTW, I am not necessarily agreeing with the caller.
