....With ball although he has performed once with the bat. As a batting allrounder he needs to be more consistent with the bat especially as his position in the order ideally places him to hold the middle and lower order together.
In terms of his bowling, he has taken few wkts, has been expensive and just seems to have lost confidence.
Here's hpping that he leads from the front and performs in both departments in the remaining qualifying matches and the other players will up their ante also
so that we the fans could have something to cheer about

Holder yet to Deliver
They saying the batsmen should copy Williamson, Can Holder copy his captaincy
In reply to Hendra
I believe Holder's issue is that he is too comfortable losing and therefore lacks killer instinct. He often goes by soft dismissal route and he doesn't seem to be prepared to bat for long periods. Braithwaite is similar although he will have a "remember the name" moment ever so often.
What I would like to see them to walk out prepared to scored a century and take a 5fer every match. They can bat but they don't seem convinced that they can...I am really not sure of their ODI bowling pedigree...

how you going follow when you not lead?

How you going to lead if nobody is following?
Weak chief and clueless indians.

One of the issues with Holder seems to be that, he does not understand cricket. I am not saying that, he does not, but it seems to be that way. He waits too long before having a chat with the bowlers and he should demand certain things from them. If a bowler is not bowling to the plan then take him off. At this level, a bowler should be supported based on ability and team plans to use said ability. It makes absolutely "ZERO" sense to bowl a short ball wide. Bouncers, not short balls should be part of the plan. Those should be aimed from the chest to the neck region directly at the batsman and the field should be set to support that. Fielders should not be spread out around the 30 yard circle with those being delivered. Those are the areas that Holder needs to improve upon if he is to remain at the helm.

Love you guys..

the thread is about Holder, I included Braithwaite as he is similar to Holder IMO. I dealt with the others on different threads.
Your question sounds defensive which cannot possibly help the situation...if it is a defensive position ...you don't get out of jail by saying that other people are in jail too...

Never attempt to discuss serious cricket with Fuzzy..Fuzzy is a great character
In reply to Khaga
Hotaribin ever discuss anything serious?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Not sure where that came from... Noted however...

Brilliant.............and welcome.
I hope some folks will now realise a bouncer is a short ball but a short ball may not necessarily be a bouncer. Lol
In reply to Discourse
Wrong..bowlers can get steep bounce off a good length..or so some of the WI "legends" claimed..
In reply to Khaga
Yep, some skillful bowlers do get steep bounce off a good length but just wanted to emphasize that not all short balls are necessarily bouncers.

Fuzz doesn't seem to understand there is a difference between leadership and management. At this point, I'm not sure what's there to defend. Jason is not a leader of men, nor is he a tactician. He can speak well, though, and is tall, and handsome. I give him that.
Holder performing with the ball big time!
Fails again
with the bat, Holder does. Has been a terrible failure with the bat
Cappo had no clue and plays a dolly. That's it for the batting.
