London - West Indies head coach Floyd Reifer has urged his team to play for pride as they start to rebuild for the future after a disappointing Cricket World Cup campaign.

Jason Holder’s men came into the tournament tipped as a potential surprise package, especially after scoring 421 in a warm-up victory over New Zealand.

Well let's see how much pride they have, both SL and Afgan have pride also and they will be looking at their match against the WI as a winnable game, so the WI will be in fierce battle to avoid last place.

In reply to CaribbeanCricket.comPride??! What is that? Do you really think this bunch knows anything about pride? All they care about is making some money off T/20 cricket. And even if these guys had a little pride left in them, they are still incapable of playing up to the standards of the other teams. They simply do not have the brains. If you want to understand how these guys are seen, just listen to the commentators. When they talk about other teams, you will always hear these commentators associate terms like "smart batting", "intelligent bowling", etc. Not so with the West Indies. What you will hear when they talk about the West Indies are terms like "if it's their day", "if they are hitting the ball", "if the ball is bouncing their way". In other words, they do not have the ability to put thought and intelligence into their game. They just don't have it. All they can do is depend on the physical aspect of the game and hope that the opposing team is having a bad day. And the last thing you would find among this group West Indies "cricketers" is pride. The final blow in this World Cup will be a thrashing by newcomers Afghanistan. This West Indies tram desperately needs a top class psychologist. They need some serious help!
