Some Guyanese are sure to be good Florida citizens already!
I could never understand the Guyanese craving for "wild meat", including iguana meat. It's not as if Guyana does not have enough farm-grown meat for its population.
BTW, Guyana has lots of big lizards (many larger than 4 feet), and lizard-like reptiles. Folks there seem to love iguana meat only tho. They do not share the US liking for alligator meat. It is not unusual to see dead alligators by the roadside in some areas, with no takers, a la Pluto Shervinton's "Ram Goat Liver" song.
Hard to find iguanas these days in Guyana - even on the island of Leguan (BeatDBall's home island, I think), which was named after them.

I spent some time n the company of Guyanese brethren in Tdad so I am familiar with the excitement generated by any iguana sighting.
Florida always had iguanas. First saw one there in 84 but last year they were rampant in S Florida. 10 -12 young iguanas playing on verges beside the roadway canals.

It took me 4 years to try curry mango.
Now I can't get enough.
Maybe one day I'll try iguana.

boy Yard people just don't rush to embrace or even experiment with food, one of the first trait I noticed with Americans was that willingness to try new things.

Yes we Jamaicans are not adventurous when it comes to food. Give us chicken and rice or variations of it everyday.
