He enjoyed successful stints as coach of the West Indies, Canada, Bermuda and Jamaica. During his tenure as West Indies coach he won the 2004 ICC Champion’s Trophy. As coach of the Red Force, Logie guided the Red Force to the 2015 NAGICO Super50 title

Simmons is understood to have communicated his decision to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday. His contract, which runs until the end of the World Cup, would likely have been extended given Afghanistan's results during his tenure, including their tournament win in Zimbabwe at the World Cup Qualifier last March.

They tell me West Indies was in that tournament but I said, “nah, not the mighty foreign led ones” lol

Well one of those foreign led won a test series.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) sacked Coach Otis Gibson tonight, a decision known 48 hours before it was announced. Hurray for transparency. The news that he was terminated by a telephone call after just renewing a contract for 2 years makes the Gibson sacking another saga to observe for the comedic relief it offers. It is no secret West Indies has become the laughing stock of the cricket world.

I don't want to hurt you brother, but facts are stinky things

in 2004, Australian Bennett King was appointed as coach of the WI team, replacing Gus Logie, who was fired as coach after the Champion Trophy. In 2008, King resigned from his post after poor performances of the WI team in the World Cup. He recommended to the WICB that his assistant coach, David Moore, be given the position. After King’s resignation, it was reported in the Jamaican Gleaner that WI captain, Sarwan said King was the worst coach he ever had, and that he was aggressive and vocally abusive to certain players.

After retirement West Indies called on Kanhai as their first national cricket coach. In charge of coaching the under-19s before being assigned to the Test team, Kanhai's selection was announced at the WICBoC annual general meeting in May 1992 to start work in the autumn of 1992 "for an as yet unspecified period". He resigned in 1995 in favour of Andy Roberts.

Only Andy thinks Andy is a coach cool

Kanhai, the newly-appointed coach, arranged a 10-day camp leading up to the tour which concluded with a two-day match at Kensington Oval .

The team left Bridgetown on Saturday 24 October and flew via London, arriving in Perth on Wednesday 28 October 1992. Five days of practice ensued before the opening match.

Patrick Patterson was not selected for any of the Tests or most of the other games after walking from the field at Brisbane without saying anything to his captain

Five years after the endgame

Australia retained the Frank Worrell Trophy which they had wrested from West Indies eighteen months before. Since then West Indies cricket had undergone an upheaval, changing its captain, coach and manager. If the new team officials had helped overcome the factionalism of twelve months ago, a general lack of intensity and commitment of which the captain and manager complained had now set in. Australia held the trophy winning at Adelaide by an innings and 183 runs, West Indies heaviest Test defeat for nearly forty years. West Indies also lost the one-day series to Pakistan. Yet they won two Test matches and had a run of eight successive victories in mid-tour before losing the vital Test match at Adelaide. Brian Lara, beset by controversies, took six months off in preparation for the tour.
