The new president's job was to get rid of Cameron. Nobody told him he had to do anything more - and certainly not for fans. You just sit in office, do whatever your political supporters want, and collect ICC money.

Simple, man.

T&T beats Guyana by 9 wickets

T&T defeated Guyana by nine wickets at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva to sound a warning when the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-17 Tournament bowled off on Saturday.

After Sion Hackett and Darren Samuel took three wickets each to tumble out the visitors for 91 all out in 38.3 overs, Jeremiah Cruickshank (42 not out) and Kyle Roopchand (38 not out) knocked off the target in 19.5 overs.

It was an auspicious start for the T&T boys who last year narrowly lost out on the regional title by 0.1 of a point to eventual winners Barbados, and their strong performance underlined the home team's all-round strength against worthy opponents.

Batting first, the Guyanese youngsters found the going tough with only Mavindra Dindial, who hit two centuries in last year's tournament, showing any resistance with patient innings of 42 with four boundaries.

Trinidad and Tobago continued their winning run in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Under-17 Championships yesterday with fast-bowler Sion Hackett again delivering the goods as the hosts pulled off a tense six-run win over the Leeward Islands at Gilbert Park in California, yesterday. Hackett grabbed four for 20 from seven overs as T&T successfully defended 91 to win by six runs

The hosts showed tremendous fight to stay in contention after they struggled with the bat on what looked to be a difficult batting track in California.

Beamer 2019-07-08 12:23:25

It would seem some fast bowlers are doing very well in this tournament which is terrific to see.

Sion Hackett of T & T and Jaden Carmichael of Leeward Islands being the standouts so far.

Akadianto Willett was the chief destroyer with the ball, with figures of four wickets for nine runs, while Jaden Carmichael took 4/18.

In reply, the Leewards were bowled out for 85 in 32.3 overs, despite a valiant 27 from Carlon Bowen-Tuckett.

J Layne got 4/33 and T O'Neale 2/24 for Barbados.

At the National Cricket Centre, Jamaica beat the Windward Islands by four wickets in a low-scoring affair

Why would anybody waste money streaming an under 17 tournament shock shock. I really worry about some a u people. Under 17?

Maispwi 2019-07-11 23:17:57

You mean CWI cyah pay a few scores to cover the games using Total Cricket Scorer, which is free, and can be posted live on dere site. Dey will also have all de stats for the tournament by importing de games from the different scorers.

CWI's vision of getting people back to games needs some rethinking. Its time to invest resources in the youth competitions cause people are more invested in discovering a new find. Ensure dat dere is maximum coverage of de youth competitions and people will become interested in following the young talent
