Bravo gets CWI multi-format contract
Trinidad and Tobago batsman Darren Bravo has been given a West Indies contract for all formats of cricket for the next year.
Cricket West Indies made the announcement in a release Monday, in which it named the players who have been retained on contracts mere days after the regional side returned from an unsuccessful campaign in the ICC World Cup in England.
Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul joined Test and One-Day International captain Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach among players given all-format contracts. Last year, only four players were given contracts for all formats of the game.
Nicholas Pooran, who enjoyed a strong World Cup campaign and was named among a Best XI by AP writers at the tournament, was handed a white-ball contract.
CWI also increased expanded the list of centrally-contracted womens players for the 2019-20 season Among the women, T&T players Karishma Ramharack and Stacy-Ann King picked up contracts.
