Darren Sammy has dusted off his maroon cap and is ready to don it again as captain of the West Indies T20 cricket team.

The two-time winning, World T20 skipper is pledging allegiance to his team for the upcoming series versus India next month and furthermore, says he would accept any opportunity to lead the team into next year’s World T20 in Australia in October.

“I feel I still have a lot to offer in T20 cricket. With the experience I have gained as a player and as a leader I think I have a lot to offer West Indies cricket and fans,” Sammy told Weekend Sport in an exclusive interview.

If Sammy delivers the goods in CPL...he has to be considered for the maroon again..

But he must not just walk back into the WI team

His role as player must be established...is he going to be selected as an allrounder....or batsman...or bowler...or clapper ....or cappo only?

Is he going to play as a batsmen and bat at #8?

You demean a great motivator . . . and successful t20 captain
Is clapper a declared motivating role? Mike Brearley successfully captained england with a test average of 22.88. Why he was a motivator as he is now
Link Text

Mike Brearley captained England in 31 Tests between 1977 and 1981. His side won 18 of those matches giving him a 58.06% success rate. That 58.06% has, amongst those who have served on more than 15 occasions, never been exceeded and Brearley’s reputation has, if anything, grown as the years have passed since he finally relinquished the job in favour of Keith Fletcher at the end of the magical summer of 1981.

The problem with Caribbean people is that they cannot think outside the box

Sammy led WI to two T20 world cups.

Nothing wrong in selecting him to lead the team in T20's again.

" Remember the name Carlos " has taken Sammy's place, there is no room for the 4th all-rounder in the team.

Coming back as a full time cappo? Ready, willing and available.
