Federer: That's the match

Casper 2019-07-14 15:23:13

No way the Djoker is going to let you get back from a 5-1 tie-break deficit

Casper 2019-07-14 15:24:18

Once he wins this third set, he's going to put on the gas.

lol lol lol

Casper 2019-07-14 16:01:49

Now, who choked there on a set game? Federer, I can't believe you did.

Casper 2019-07-14 16:04:18

Ok, Federer. Let's see who's the real Choker. Tie up this game or go home.

Errrrm, even if he wins, won't he be going home...to celebrate?

Casper 2019-07-14 16:12:02

lol

But would that be Dubai or Basel?

Casper 2019-07-14 16:14:56

The way for Federer to win this match is to resist overpowering the backhand and just keep putting that ball back in play, forcing the error by the Djoker or waiting for the right moment to pounce.

Casper 2019-07-14 17:24:55

Federer choked when he had the game on his racket.

Casper 2019-07-14 17:29:44

Can a Federer choke twice in two games? That would destroy him mentally.

steveo 2019-07-14 18:24:23

Fed woulda/coulda have 4-5 more championships if he wasnt such a choker

Tennis is one of the few sports where the player who wins the most points and most games
can still end up losing the match. Federer won 34 games, 2 more than Djokovic. The scoring system of lawn tennis with its Deuces and Ads etc. needs to be revamped. Admittedly its difficult to tinker with it without affecting overall stats.

Flimsy excuse

Just an observation. I have had this view for decades. The scoring system is too complicated. I didnt see the match but Federer must have played out of his skin. In a sport which requires so much athleticism and fitness, its incredible that a 37 year old would playing the way he is and easily beating younger guys.

Its remarkable how much better the mens top three is from the rest of the players. Is it that Djoker, Nadal and Fed are that good?

Because that is how tennis is set up not because he was superior. If it were most games determines a winner you would see less tanking when a player falls too far behind in a set.

Everyone could see Djokovic let the 2 set go after he was so far behind.

Tennis is won by winning the points that matter not by winning the most points
