Lets be honest, Joel Wilson did not appoint himself to the elite panel nor did he put a gun at somebody's head and compel them under duress to appoint him.
But let us go deeper, Joel Wilson did not even appoint himself as an umpire, that the WICBC appointed him is their folly and they had ample opportunities to drop him for the countless errors he made domestically.
And back to the ICC, they were under no compulsion to accept Wilson as an umpire- they had a chance to fix the WICBC bad decison to make him an umpire in the first place.
I have been saying it for years right here that Wilson is one of the worst umpire I have ever seen and to top it, his diatribe against a West Indian player he "tief out" last year at a domestic tourney shows not only is that he inept but also arrogant as well.
