Outspoken Cricket West Indies (CWI) director Conde Riley has claimed Windies captain Jason Holder pleaded with the then newly-appointed Ricky-Skerrit association not to change the regional team’s coaching staff ahead of the ICC World Cup.
The administration has come in for some heavy criticism in some quarters after the new president sacked interim coach Richard Pybus and the selection panel only weeks ahead of the tournament.
The move had proven to be particularly controversial as the team had put in a strong performance against England in an ODI tour of the Caribbean only a few weeks prior. Despite being president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) and a director of the CWI, Riley, who warned against the move, was understandably among the critics.

Very self serving political statement and also wrong to put it that holder said... ..if Holder wanted to speak he could...
We didnt lose because of the selectors and Courtney Browne was a tool of Cameron banning players without due process

We always find ways to make our shitty team worse, and under perform. Cant say why we deserve it. Kudos to the parties back other teams and players from other teams.

Although I agree with the statement, all this publicity is doing is pitting current coaches against Holder. As long as he is captain coaches and team management will fee they have to watch their back.
Is this Conde Riley such a sissy? SMH!!!

pybus and co gave us a spurt, a blip. Don't we know from past experiences that West Indies is famous for its blips and spurts? It was not going to be sustainable. Like how dem boys seh dem is Trini to d bone, is jus suh West Indies is problem to d bone. A lil outside dressing will be found out in soon order.

Not sure what difference it would have made. Courtney Browne was basically selecting the same team. The only difference in the World Cup team is that Pooran was made a constant and no longer sidelined - too much talent in Pooran to have that man not in your side.
Otherwise, Browne and co had the likes of Gayle, Lewis, Hope, Hetmyer, Allen, Brathwaite, Holder, Roach, Thomas, Cotterell, Nurse playing before the world cup. Pooran & Russell was part of the England ODI series squad. Shannon Gabriel was probably the only new comer.

Didnt Walco post that he had it from the horses mouth that they did not respect Pybus cuz he told them to declare and Holder refused. This would appear to be inconsistent with Holder's pleading for the coaching staff to remain in place. Of course other explanation could be present but it seems that Holders pleading is at odds with that initial report.

Not sure where Walco gets his stuff from but my sources always told me that Holder and Pybus does get along well. It's the other guys who weren't bothered whethered he was there or not
