That swipe for six has become the norm, par for the course.

Now, a flashy star just hit a six like that before but in a few deliver(ie)s he made anodda swipe and didn' t connect properly "mi nah ketch am good" and gets out. All Hell breaks loose!
Commentators complaining and criticizing the same shot they were full of praise for before.
The public calling for heads to roll right away.
It is like darn if you do, darn if you don't. Difficult spouse syndrome.
When you are trying to hit the ball out of the park, you will get out, sooner than later.
Same shot gives thrill and cursing out.
Eating McDonald's and complaining that you gain weight and cholesterol gone up.

My dad used to take us to Bourda from we were kids. At one match after watching a batsman play strictly defensive shots, a spectator shouted 'lick di ball'. He went on and on 'lick di ball'. Eventually di batsman did just dat and was caught - di spectator then shouted out 'not dat ball'.

But isn't that what separate the good/great ones? Know which ball to hit! That's why this game is so great, a thin line exist between it being a good shot as against you getting out.

Something similar happen with Lawrence Rowe vs India in 1976. After Rowe was being tied down by the India spin quartet, one fan in the eastern stand shouted,

"USE YUH FOOT YAGGA, USE YUH FOOT!! SHOW DEM YUH IS DE BEST, NO BATSMAN IN DE WORLD GOOD LIKE YUH!!"

After playing defensively to a few more balls, Rowe used his feet to one from Bedi, missed, and was promptly stumped.

With Rowe dolefully trudging back to the pavilion after scoring a fighting 40-odd runs, the same fan shouted,

"Gweh, Yagga, Yuh No Good! Yuh Fi Guh Wash Plate!!"
