HEADLINE: Phil Simmons short-listed for the job as head coach of India

Simmons who also coached Afghanistan at the ICC men’s cricket world cup in England, is among a list of 6 candidates on a shortlist.

Ravi Shastri, as well as Tom Moody, Mike Hesson, Lalchan Rajput and robin Singh are the other five candidates.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, (BBC’s) cricket advisory committee, headed by Kapil Dev, will convene in Mumbai to conduct the interviews before making their decision on Friday.

This should be a lesson for fans on this MB, to stop demeaning individuals.
Otis and Phil has both been demeaned by many, yet Otis was hired and is considered to be one of the best bowling coaches at the International level, Phil is short listed by one of the top International organizations.
As I stated when Phil was hired by the WICB, he has the right to the team, he want on the field.

Two things:
1. Simmons should be the next Windies coach.
2. The Board should change its selection policy nd allow the coach, with the help of his staff, to select the team as in other international sports (basketball, soccer, baseball, American football, Rugby). Let him live and die with the team he chooses. Only cricket does this foolishness. Vintage massa philosophy!
