Nothing about Reg Scarlett?
In reply to culpepperboy
There were two posts here earlier this week. He did a good job as a youth coach
Reg was a true stalwart who never stopped loving West Indies cricket while he lived in England. He served the game selflessly, both on and off the field, until he retired in Grenada several years ago where he continued to make his input to cricket development. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of CWI, we extend sincere condolences to his wife Trish and immediate family and may the care and love of those around them provide comfort and peace to get the through the next few difficult days.

It's very sad. I remember Reggie as a very nice person, someone who took an interest in everything and everyone. He always followed the fortunes of our old schoolmates. He was a very fine cricketer and I feel he got a raw deal in West Indies cricket, Hendriks said.
As a fellow Wolmerian, Mr. Scarlett is a well-respected man and good servant of cricket, especially for the youth.
You deserve much respect.

You only attended Wolmers or started North before reaching here?

A proud Wolmerian from 1969-1976.

Was wondering if you were Mark Neita.

Scarlett was a trier. His statistics show a bowling average of 104 and a batting average of 18. So I can't agree with Jackie Hendricks' comments.
Beyond which, I played friendly games with him after his Windies days. I did not find him to be an engaging person on the cricket field.
Nevertheless, he was a trier, worked hard and deserves his rest. Condolences to his family and friends.

Ewart, I agree with you. I don't think that Hendriks is being honest. Scarlett was not in Gibbs class as an off spin bowler. His batting was nothing to write home about. some senior cup cricketers believed that his brother Bob was a better bowler. I met him a few times, as my grand mother would say, his countenance was never a pleasant once. I remember him helping Chester Watson to win a game against a powerful Bajan side. RIP Sir.
