Pitch Report:
We have blue skies and good conditions for cricket. It is the second most successful venue for West Indies. This pitch distinctively different to what we saw in the Antigua. A tinge of green and live grass on the surface. It should be good for bowling and good for batting. It looks like a pretty good surface. The green grass is nice to see as it means there will be something for the faster men. As we get into the Test match, spinners have historically come into play in the last 3-4 years. The average first innings score here is 350 and it reduces by 50 in the second. This is also a pitch that will reward short bowling. - Darren Ganga and Ian Bishop

Jason Holder:
We are gonna field first. There is bit of grass on the wicket and a bit of moisture as well. Normally there has been moisture here. So we will try to get into India's middle order early. We have two changes - Rahkeem Cornwall makes his debut and replaces Miguel Cummins. We have one forced change at the last minute, Shai Hope is out and Jahmar Hamilton makes his debut as well. I have told the boys not to focus on the end result. We have to focus on our roles and process. If we can do that the end result will take care of itself. We have to be a lot more disciplined and a lot more patient. We need to spend some time and get through tough periods and hunt in partnerships. I am confident that guys will make things right. The last time we played here Roston Chase got a 5-fer in the second innings. It does offer a bit of spin as the game goes on and he's (Cornwall) someone who gets a lot of revs on the ball. We expect big things from him..
Virat Kohli:
It is going to be challenging. I think the first session is going to be tough like Antigua. But the advantage of batting first is you have runs on the board and then you can put pressure on the opposition from thereon. That is exactly what we did in the last game even though they had a couple of partnerships. We are pretty happy to bat first. In and out of the breaks we need to be more focused. The 70-80 run partnerships need to be bigger. The bowling has been outstanding, not much to add there. Same XI as the last game.

The strange decision is to ask for a green pitch and Paul is not playing. There must be a method to this madness but I don't get it.

9.21 am: There is some disturbing news from Kingston. Viv Richards, who was doing the pre-game show, fell sick while live on air. Aishwarya tells me they have brought in a stretcher for him. He's gotten up though, and is leaving the field, held on both sides. (They didn't eventually need the stretcher).

Cornwall to Pujara, out Caught by Shamarh Brooks!! Maiden wicket for Cornwall in Test cricket and it's a huge one. He'll remember this for a long time. Third successive failure for India's number 3 and he looks a disappointed bloke. This was probably why the off-spinner was introduced so early in this session. Goes short with this off-break and extracts some nice carry off the deck, owing to his height and the pace at which he bowled at. Pujara rocks back and chops it straight to the man at backward point

Cornwall to Kohli, no run, A huge lbw appeal and it's been turned down! West Indies have decided to challenge the onfield call, after it's the Indian skipper. This looks close but it could be probably spinning down the leg side. Huge amount of spin and Kohli gets beaten due to the same on his flick. Nothing on UltraEdge, the impact is in line and its' missing the leg stump by a huge margin. Could have probably hit the sixth stump, if there was one.

Angled in and Vihari falls over as he misses the flick, struck him around leg-stump and the angle was taking it further down. Holder gestured it was going down but Roach was adamant that it was close
West Indies review: Holder was not convinced but Roach has managed to convince him. Fair delivery. It is for a LBW. Seemed to be heading down leg. Let's see what technology says. Missed the inside edge by a long way. Going down leg. Not Out!

Roach to Kohli, no run, another shout for LBW. The nip-backer from a length and Kohli is caught on the forward move, the ball beats the inside edge and strikes him on the back thigh. Height was an issue there but it was certainly closer than the one they reviewed. Ball-tracking shows it to be hitting the stumps but impact was umpire's call. Holder to Kohli, out Caught by J Hamilton!! That's a big wicket, a huge one in fact. The West Indian skipper gets the Indian skipper and the hosts are delighted. A perfect length delivery around the off-stump line and seams away off the deck, just the amount of deviation that was required to induce an outside edge. Kohli feels for it and the regulation nick has been taken by the keeper! Only 8 overs to go for the second new ball, but this is a big moment in this match

Holder to Pant, out Bowled!! Yowza! What a start from the West Indies captain. Right on the money with a beautiful inswinger that goes right through Pant's fragile defences. Such a gaping gap between bat and pad, no balance at the crease whatsoever as evidenced by the manner he's reaching out in front of the body while being caught on the walk. The stumps are a shabby mess.

Bumrah to Cornwall, FOUR, edged but safe! Cornwall gets off the mark with a streaky boundary. Bumrah bangs it short around off and surprises the batsman with the bounce. Cornwall hangs his bat out and gets a thick outside edge that flies between Pujara and Pant, could have been Bumrah's 7th wicket of the day

I am trying my best to tell myself that Bumrah is not chucking, but I still see him chucking - very often. Like everything else, one day the powers that be will have to come straight about the matter.
Meanwhile, an entire organisation (ICC + cricket boards everywhere), including most of the commentators, are all indirectly condoning this. At the very least, someone should suggest that the matter be examined more closely, even if only to put it to rest.
People don't talk about stuff like this without good reason.

Not only there was an inside edge, but this too was clearly sliding down the leg side, just like the previous ball. India have lost both their reviews. Cornwall didn't last long...out for one to Shami.
His debut Test has been just that. Nothing exceptional. But he's probably earned another chance to try to cement a place in the side.

Shami to Roach, out Caught by Pant!! India, just one away now. Roach sees this full ball pitch outside off and could not resist his temptation to drive with hard hands, unfortunately for him the feet went nowhere and all he could manage was a thick edge through to the keeper. Pant ain't dropping that.

Jadeja to Holder, out Bowled!! No luck this time around. Tries to swat again and he cannot get around this rapid slider from Jadeja, cleaned up. 28th Test victory for Virat Kohli as captain and he's gone past MSD to become the most successful in this format for India. Windies have been cleanswept 2-0 and take 120 championship points from this series.

our problems are multifaceted- players, coaching and management among other things. And there seems to be no transformative individual(s) in sight who can address and turn things around.
