Very Weak Tridents Team

Emir 2019-09-09 00:09:46

All the team appears to have a good balance including St Lucia, but looking at this tridents team the composition is all wrong and I cannot recall a weaker team in CPL history.'

If the owners of the CPL are serious about creating balance contest, the Tridents will need at least 2 top players like all the other team do.

They have some old dawgs and not a single top class T-20 player

dayne 2019-09-09 00:16:47

It is unusual to see a Barbados team without a fast bowler, at the death overs it looks like the could have use one to make it less easy for the batsmen to swing their bats so freely

Because they only want Bajans.

Ray123 2019-09-09 00:21:21

One game fellas don't panic yet

But the owner is not a bajan and Phil is the coach.

Blame the owner here, he came up with a horrible team and not even the best we have- Polly, Bravo, Gayle, Ramo, Dre Russ, Sammy can win with this team.

So ah feeling a lil sorry for Jason, and BTW, the CPL need all the teams to be balance for a good contest.

Who is the owner?

This team was contracted before the new owners, bought it.
I for one did not even knew the make up of the team, until I tune in to watch it.
Plenty dead weight on that team, the old owners had a $1.49 moment.
Eatons, The Bay or some store had that sale, one day a month, in the early seventies.

WIForever 2019-09-09 00:32:16

Licks with that shitty middle order.

How much money was spent, are you saying a T20 team consisting of that lot, is worth spending money on?

No.... I'm saying that the new owners contracted these players at the draft.....2 of them have had to be replaced since then...Asif Ali and Wahab Riaz from Pakistan were replaced by J P Duminy and Josh Lalor....but these are their players....not inherited at all

analyst-kid 2019-09-09 01:07:51

WHERE is Dwayne Smith? He should be opening with Johnson Charles. Hales at 3.

U in a T20 Tournament and Leiniko Boucher is your No.3?

Please explain the draft, looking at the Trident team, very few of it local players, has performed at the T20 level.
Alex Hales and Duminy are the only two International players, I am familiar with.

Who are the previous Trident performers?
I really don't follow this format, as I do others.

Dwayne Smith is a dominant player in this format arguably Barbados best T20 batsman....ONCE AVAILABLE HE SHOULD PLAY.

mkcharles 2019-09-09 15:06:37

Weak team maybe, weak team selection definitely. How the heck you go to Providence and play on a two day old wicket and you have two spinners sitting on the bench.

For goodness sakes Guyana bowled Hemraj and Malik in the first 10 overs. Say that out loud and that tells you everything about the pitch and the forward thinking by the Warriors.

Teams are sometimes only as good or as bad and those who plan behind the scenes.

runout 2019-09-09 15:10:17

Warriors have one of the youngest and talented squad.

Pooran, Hemraj, Shety, Romario, Paul, Sherfane, King and Greene...exciting team to watch.

Realsteel 2019-09-09 16:37:11

Just poor selections and too much emphasis place on local players.Barbados have very good test and Odi players but lack players suited or t20 also surprised that Tridents did not retain Pooran and Polard

analyst-kid 2019-09-09 17:04:03

thats what im saying. Dwayne Smith is KING in this crowd.

Why are you not talking about franchise cricket, instead of local players?
Simmons and others were available for the draft.
The Pride selections are base on players from Barbados, with two players from the other territory.
The Trident has a completely different draft procedure.
I watched Primus last night, he must be taking plenty wicket and scoring plenty runs for Wanderers, for someone to consider him ready for Regional or the CPL.

Did not see game last night but yes Primus has been consistently performing with bat and ball in white ball cricket. Given time he will be a big T20 success.

Folks also go to remember that at the last minute Tridents lost 3 key Pakistanis

But so are the other teams but they had like replacements. This Tridents is pathetic and then Jason is cappo, double whammy

It is not good for the competition.

Marl my word, they will not win one game and will screw up the entire competition dynamics. J

analyst-kid 2019-09-10 15:57:20

Only way I can see them winning a match is if Dwayne Smith joins with Hales and Johnson at the top and you have Kyle Mayers as your lower order powerhitter/death bowler.

Isn't Tarzan Smith is as big as Cornwall now

At least Cornwall is carrying that size since he was a kid

But truth be told Tarzan should be cappo of the Tridents
Castro could be spear heading the attack a la Malinga

Tarzan is 36+...how much more can the public ask of the man. If he couldn't do it when he was 26, then how can he at 36?

How much money has you invested in the Franchise?

Gayle is 40
Imran Tahir is 41
Shoaib Malik is 37
Fawad Ahmed 37
Sammy 35
Bravo 35

If he couldn't do it when he was 26, then how can he at 36?

Do what exactly???
Tarzan scored adequately in IPL and CPL in the past
And he bowled too.

runout 2019-09-10 16:54:16

In reply to Narper

My brother, Tarzan averages 18+...and his strike rate of just over 100 in T20's.

Tahir is fit, and so is Malik. Don't you see that Tahir has another 40 years in T20's? LOL

CG is struggling, but he still hits a long ball. Plus this is his farewell CPL.

Tarzan, I haven't seen this year, but last year he looked out of shape.

analyst-kid 2019-09-10 17:03:44

All I am implying is that the Tridents best chance is an explosive opening trio of Hales Johnson and Smith and then hope a middle order of Brooks Carter and Holder with Nurse Primus and Mayers to carry you beyond 150.

Ray123 2019-09-12 00:53:57

Not so bad for the weakest Tridents Team lol

Emir 2019-09-12 00:55:34

Well the magician Phil Simmons now in his groove, I tell you though Bim is very weak, this is a 201 pitch

Ray123 2019-09-12 01:02:47

In reply to Emir

So it's cause of Phil now lol lol

By your reasoning the Patriots are weaker than the Tridents.

You don't need to make 200 is you can bowl the other team out for 150.

WestDem 2019-09-12 01:15:04
