This video is puzzling. According to my source, it was Marlon's countryman Haynes who told the selectors that Samuels is done. Maybe Haynes told Marlon that it was Floyd who blocked him to avoid some heat. I would have had Samuels in my WC squad though.

Marlon need to find some direction in life. And he's astoundingly arrogant which was half or 3/4 of his problem. That being said, there is nothing that Floyd could correct technically on a batsman. He was just there to make sure the influential persons in the setup were from the same island. If they had earned their places there would not be a problem. But seeing that holder and brathwaite were both political choices and having someone like floyd around whose cricketing exploits or lack thereof made him an easy target. Floyd's technique was worse than courtney brownnose

Anyways though.......there has been a marked decrease in the quality of the team. Brathwaite is back fishing outside off stump, hety has not matured among other issues. The bowling I'd still good although I was disheartened to see Cummins in the team. He was typically lacking in any sort of penetration. She married Brooks is one for the future. But as I said at Reifers's appointment, there is nothing he can teach a young cricketer. Technically as a batsman, he was awful and I'm not aware he was any kind of bowler either. It is good the search for a new coach has begun because Floyd Reifer should not even be considered as a short term prospect.

the only person samuels has to blame is himself i would not have picked him either and talking about technique samuels technique after getting hit in the face from malinga was awful he refused to come forward to fast bowlers anymore and camped out on the backfoot when he should have come forward

Samuels only makes runs in tournament finals so Reifer was saving him for that but it wasn't meant meant to be.

Why are you all so short-sighted? Are you saying that mediocre players cannot become good coaches? Don't quite understand this as there is zero precedence for this. I am no Floyd Reifer Fan but Marlon's premise that because Reifer was a poor test batsman means he cannot be a good coach?

I agree. I have never seen a player so satisfied with mediocrity. Hooper seemed to be disinterested.........and I stress on the seemed part, but hooper recognized the need to improve and at least in one series.....I felt that he was realizing his talent (India series 2002). Some of the Indian players said after that they just could not out hooper and chanderpaul. Samuels has had 2 sparks of note....match winning innings in two finals.....but that in addition to 8 test centuries and an avg of 30 sumthin. And he is genuinely pleased with his effort. Unbelievable

Dillon was to busy partying and doing other things to study cricket...ey dat man had to be the most infuriating bowler from the WI. He along with Reon King, Franklin Rose and Nixon McLean dropped the ball big time. They were all tall, Strong, quick fast bowlers who unfortunately seemed to be sharing one brain. Ambrose gave those a four a major toungue lashing in his book. Here you have four bowere who had the opportunity to learn from two masters of the art of fast bowling.......and they learnt nothing. I remember a double hundred some NZ cat named Sinclair scored against us in 1999/2000. All his shots were clearly premeditated and King and dillon kept bowling the exact same delivery so him for over a day. I knew he was a crap batsman because he never made a note after that innings but it also shows how terrible our bowlers were

That's not limited to Marlon - as a matter of fact its this attitude towards local coaching why West Indies always end up with a foreigner. The West Indian cricketer will never respect their own. Especially when U hand dem coaching like Pretty buay Floyd
