A Trini decided to burn a Guyana flag over CPL

anthonyp 2019-10-13 18:57:57

All because some clowns who support Warriors stepped on their flags last year..

Is time CPL drop the countries name from these franchises.. supporters are taking this nonsense too far!

What dropping country names gine do?... Georgetown Warriors or Bridgetown Tridents is still Guyana v Bim.....people in the region too dotish and insular.....people will know where the franchises are based and the same shit will obtain.

Using country names, colours and emblems gives people the impression of a national team, it also provides fuel for behaviours mentioned by anthonyp, don't even use Georgetown or Bridgetown, just simply Tridents and Amazon warriors etc., these are companies owned by individuals or groups any hint of national affiliation should be removed for the safety of people who has yet to come to grips with franchise sports in the caribbean

Why would arsenal fans fight Chelsea fans

Jeremy 2019-10-13 20:53:25

If you take away the countries names, this tournament will flopped just like sri lanka t20 and others t20. people supports this curry goat tournament because their countries are getting showcase to the world.

This tournament is useless without the countries names. Organiser knows that.

I am under no illusion that TKR is anything to do with Trinidad.

Nor is NicholasPooran Guyanese.

And they change teams .

Pick one but flags not so much...

If we are about making changes because one person burned a flag I shudder to see the society we will design.

These team will have bases......so people will still be partial.....whatever you do the problem will be the same......and if you are so concerned about the people who you think that have not yet come to grips with franchise cricket they should be put on the next slow boat to China......you really pushing that....... people in the region will never come to grips with anything.... too insular to try.....just sain

of course they will be partial re the base where the franchise is located, however, i am very concern regards coming to grips with franchise cricket because it has implications for say a Trini being comfortable and feeling at home while playing for another franchise not based in Trinidad, some behaviours can make it untenable for free movement of players around the region

and it is due to our insularity and nationalistic views. time will tell

Why not simply address the culprits instead of shaking down the entire house to find one cockroach ?

Why bow down for one ass!!

WestDem 2019-10-14 01:28:48

Bought a flag that’s red and black, will have a cremation of it tomorrow and via Facebook and just hope I get as much attention as my competition!

using your analogy.....that cockroach may have already laid the egg, putting the house in order might be the only way to prevent infestation
