Jokie team right there. Cummins & Javon Searles please
In reply to openning
Where de batting? I only see Carter, Tevyn Walcott and nuff bits and pieces cricketers.
U need batsmen that can give you 100s...not 25s.
Specialist bats
Leniko Boucher
Nicholas Kirton
Jonathan Carter
Kjorn Ottley
Zachary McCaskie
wicket keeper
Tevyn Walcott
Allrounders
Primus
Mayers
Bishop
Nurse
Searles
Springer
Bowlers
Holder
Cummins
I saw McCaskie and Joshua Bishop making some runs in domestic cricket...but nuff of those specialist bats besides Carter Walcott and Ottley unproven. Boucher had a good score in one match in the CPL...my starting eleven
Boucher
Ottley
Carter
Kirton
Springer
Walcott
Primus
Mayers
Nurse
Bishop
Cummins/Holder
...with that weak top order I cant see u leaving out allrounders Primus, Springer Mayers Nurse and Bishop, a spin option who can bat a bit.
we said the same thing about the bajan T20 team and look how that turned out
In reply to navindesigns
true...this is a new young team and maybe with great team spirit and performances they will excel.
In reply to navindesigns
There are Monday morning QBs, let the selectors pick their teams. 8 seniors players are not available, this is the time for a good youngster to step in and perform.
In reply to tc1
Where are the youngters you talk about.
In reply to seaegg99
Squad: Jonathan Carter (captain), Joshua Bishop, Leniko Boucher, Miguel Cummins, Chemar Holder, Nicholas Kirton, Kyle Mayers, Zachary McCaskie, Ashley Nurse, Kjorn Ottley, Roshon Primus, Javon Searles, Shamar Springer, Tevyn Walcott.
The team selected is quite young, with Nurse, Carter and Searles older
One can argue the composition of the team, but it is a young team.
Here is the Super Cup stats.

Boucher, Holder, kirton,, Mccaskie,Bishop, Walcott,Springer, Primus, all u25.
The are not an outstanding group , but never the less there are given a chance. Others will be on the CC team and the u25 or what ever its called.
No Justin Greaves? WTF?
Justin....Red Force will find a place for you. Come on over and leff dem eediat alone

Confused about Nicholas Kirton inclusion in the Bajan squad. He's currently playing for Canada in the World t20 qualifiers. Plus Canada is slated to play in the regional tourney. Which team will he play for?
In reply to navindesigns
a whole different format considering how poor regional cricket this might be a good team but
kjorn ottley?
miguel cummins?
javon searles?
why?
do you really need all of these samey its and pieces medium pace all rounders
they could have given harding the fastest bowler in barbados a chance and leave out one of these trundlers
In reply to velo
Agreed. Too many bits and pieces cricketers. Missed opp for the development of talented players like Harding and Greaves. How could Kirton get in a Barbados squad before Greaves anyway.
In reply to Logic
Do you know the composite of all the squads?
I am sure that Greaves is in one of the many teams that make up the tournament
In reply to Logic
You talking about bit and pieces, and yet bringing Greaves into the conversation.
I dont know what roll or balance Springer, Primus or Mayers bring to the team, seem the same to me, Greaves would be the same.
Who are the young batsman in the Island, that should be selected?
In reply to analyst-kid
CCC is in the tournament, a number of players not selected, played in last year tournament.
Harding and Greaves from what I hear are all on that developmental team.
In reply to openning
Quality top order List A batsmen are limited thats why so much bits and pieces players.
Selectors are banking that Springer Mayers Primus Searles and Nurse can give you 100-150 runs at the tail end of an innings.
AS for their samey samey bowling...dont medium pace swing bowlers wreak havoc in regional cricket? This has been the case since the 1960s....ewmember they also have Cummins and Holder who can bowl at 80-90mph and Primus who also can deliver at that pace sometimes.
In reply to ThisIsMyName
Clearly some of you can't see that Greaves is one of the better batsmen in BIM. Because he is first listed as a bowler you fail to see that he is a better strokemaker than all the players on the team. He is one of he few who have time to play his shots and isn't afraid of balls above his waist.
Do the regional teams select their teams first because there is no way Harding and Greaves not be on BIM's first team going forward.
How come Shian Brathwaite is also one that should be given a chance to open the batting.
In reply to seaegg99
Agreed.
With the others out,
The batting to me is
1. Carter
2. Greaves
3. Walcott
.....thats why I asked ( on facebook with this same topic) where is Greaves? Ottley Kirton and the allrounders must assert themselves this season.
In reply to analyst-kid
CWI added EMERGING PLAYERS to the teams in the tournament, surely Greaves who played for the B team and did well, will be selected.
