Apart from looking at the WI in their pomp, the only other team that gave me pleasure of watching cricket was Pakistan, even now I will not miss them. They were the only team that took on the fearsome pacers of the Caribbean and was equal to the WI in every way.

I think in their pomp, which was 83-84, WI would have still won possibly 2-1 with wins in Jamaica and Barbados........Pakistan may have won in GT or Trinidad. When Imran and co drew those series in late 86-90, WI had already began a very very slow decline which accelerated after defeat in 95. And they only drew with them. But Pakistan were definitely the second best team of the 80s. They had an amazing brand of cricket. Like WI as Brazil to Pakistan's France

Not sure why the author kept it to only 1993.

But I will tell you, they are the only one who gave us a run for our money and if you ask Roberts, Viv, Lloyd and others they will tell you Pak was our main competitor.

By far, the best two teams of the era, with us being number of course

If those series of the 80's and up to mid 90's were played today, with the media and all the hype that today's matches get, it would have been quite a spectacle.
