I have been learning French on and off for about one and a half year now and have been experiencing problems getting the accents on certain letters.How many people on here are aware of how I can get those marks when I have to write an email or write on FB.I can talk quite a bit in French now,
but not confident,I am more confident when writing but the accent marks are a problem.

Hold down the letter and you'll be presented with the options....at least on digital keyboards.

Others are in the symbol menu...may need to go to the second page.

You have to first add an international keyboard under Time & Language in the Settings. This will enable you to move (choose) between your normal language of choice and your international keyboard.

I suspect at the moment you only have one choice of keyboard programmed.

Go into Settings > Time & Language > Language > etc...

No special keyboard needed.

You've got me there,what is a digital Keyboard I thought all Keyboards were digital,BTW you speak french .I was thinking about going to any french speaking country where I can spend about at least one month twice a year.

A digital keyboard is one that appears on your screen...as in personal devices.

Am from Dominica. I payed attention in school and spent threes summers in Guadeloupe.

But am very rusty after 27 years in the US.

I am sure it's a one choice keyboard,i was worried about changing the keyboard in case it was difficult to move back to the original.So as you say go to settings and choose International Keyboard,it shouldn't be a problem moving back when I'm finished what I'm doing.Thanks I'll tell you what I did and how it worked.

No. You should have a keyboard in your task bar or put an icon there allowing you to make the choice...between the US Keyboard and international keyboard...add as many keyboards as you wish.

In reply to Courtesy Man I am always worried about doing stuff in case ah mess up things and cannot fix it,I have done rubbish before,i'll take in the instructions and with more confidence get cracking later,tell you how it goes.

You always have the option if you mess up to recover to a date when the computer last worked well. Nothing to worry about, unless you go into the Registry to tweak what you know nothing about. Avoid the REGISTRY.

In reply to CourtesyThanks mate I did as you told me and now I am a very accentuated person,it's nice to have the the correct words and the right way to pronounce.I see some that I may never use,some look more foreign than the french language.

You are most welcome. And don't be afraid of the utilities in your computer...as long as you don't enter the REGISTRY until you become proficient.

I remember messing computers long time ago when we didn't have Internet and I used to go in the drive and mess with the files that run the computer.One time ah mess up so bad I had to pay a shop to fixit.Anyway I am not going to interfere with Mr.Registry,thanks again.
