Sometimes I get a little confused over a few LBW decisions. I'd appreciate some help when people get around to it. Thanks.
Firstly, can all agree that for a batsman to be out the IMPACT must be in line and the WICKETS must be hitting, either plumb or Umpire's Call with the finger up beforehand? If we agree then let's move on.
I am going to put some scenarios and my opinion and you tell me if I am right or wrong, and if wrong, the answer. My thanks to you all in advance.
1/ When the batsman and bowler are the same handed(lefty or righty) and the bowler is bowling OVER the wicket, I believe the ball does not have to be PITCHED in line for the batsman to be given out. Is that correct?
1A/ When the batsman and bowler are different handed(e.g. one is lefty and the other righty) and the bowler is bowling OVER the wicket, I believe the ball definitely does have to be PITCHED in line for the batsman to be given out. Is that correct?
2/ When the batsman and bowler are the same handed(lefty or righty) and the bowler is bowling AROUND the wicket, I believe the ball does have to be PITCHED in line for the batsman to be given out. Is that correct?
2A/ When the batsman and bowler are different handed(e.g. one is lefty and the other righty) and the bowler is bowling AROUND the wicket, I believe the ball does not have to be PITCHED in line for the batsman to be given out. Is that correct?
Now if point # 1 is correct here's another scenario. A right arm leggie is bowling OVER the wicket to a right handed batsman and the ball is pitched slightly outside LEG stump(not pitched in line obviously) and comes back in to hit the batsman plumb in line, can this batsman be given out if the ball is shown to be going on to hit the stumps?
Thanks again for the answers and any other points.

LBW: A Little Help Here Please
In reply to B16JP587S
Just to add dat you can be given out if hit outside the off stump and not playing a shot if in de opinioe umpire de ball would have gone on to hit de stumps.
Also any ball pitched outside de bater's leg stump should not be given out even if the ball would have gone on to hit the stumps.
As such 1, 2, 3, 4 are not totally correct
You are making it more complicated than it needs to be. It does't matter whether the Bowler is Left or right handed. It doesn't matter whether he is bowling over or around the wicket.
Here are the rules:
1: The ball has to be hitting the wicket.
2: The ball cannot be pitched outside the Leg stump.
3: The ball has to hit in line, UNLESS the batsman does not offer a shot.(that is why if
a batsman shoulders arms to a ball pitched outside the off stump, that "hitting in
line" goes out the window

I'm reasonable sure that 'different hand' is irrelevant to the LBW decision making and probably does not appear in the rule book. The important rules are the following:
A batter CANNOT be given out if any one of the rules below is true{
0) The ball is a no ball
1) The ball pitches outside the leg stump
2) The ball hits the bat first
3) The impact is NOT inline except when the batter is not playing a shot.
}
A batter is out if{
None of the above is true AND the ball is judged to go on to hit the stumps
}
Did I miss something you experts out there?
Thanks for clearing this up for me ,all you guys. Very much appreciated.
