Williams not a good death bowler, why bowl full outside the off stumps to a batsman in incredible form and with the match to win?

India won on the back of Kohli killing Williams

Kesrick will come back better.

True, at least WI made it competitive, most batsmen and bowlers had good performances just that we could not slow down India at the end.
Hopefully Pooran will be back next match but still have to work on our bowling.
THEY had a plan to target Williams and they executed the plan. And they will continue to target him throughout.
I told them he was not in league with Reifer or Mayers with the ball when it comes to high quality batting but VOR tells me not so he is better than them.

Can you list Reifer and Mayers stats, against World Class batsman?
Williams bowled well in the last series, India is just a class above most teams.

Baje you does embarass me sometimes. Mayers is good for 2 overs tops at the start of an innnings. Reifer is a good fighter but not a lot of bowling talent there. If you are saying they would be better selections than WIlliams then maybe, since they are far better batters, but the team needs a wicket-taking bowler, not more utility players.
Willams needs to be written off, he is just average.

How would you know the level of Reifers talent if he never gets the chances that others seem to get?
Look anyone who would look at Williams and Reifer bowling and then pick Williams need their head examined!!!

Maybe the 50 overs, but at the T20 format, they stats are similar.
CPL 2019 STATS
REIFER 14 WKS @ 16.35 ECON 7.76
WILLIAMS 12 WKTS @ 24.25 ECON 8.55
The stats out of CPL 2019 SHOWS the most economical pacers were Dwayne Smith 6.70, Santokie 7.66 Sammy 7.33 and Reifer 7.76 Joseph 7.75 Holder 7.34 and Cottrell 7.83. ( Gurney 6.16)
My point of touting Reifer and Mayers over Williams is that
1.They can open the bowling take wickets and contain at the top better than WILLIAMS
2.They can match him in the middle overs
3.They are far superior death bowlers to Williams.
I have not even mentioned the batting...both Reifer and Mayers in particular are powerhitters over Williams.
he is not a good bowler period if you have pollard and holder why you need him he can't even bat
Kesrick can bowl 140K plus on his quicker deliveries and bowls a great slower ball. He had a really bad day.
He was not even among the top ten most economical bowlers in CPL 2019!
1.Gurney 6.16
2.D Smith 6.70
3.Munro 7.33
4.Sammy 7.33
5.Holder 7.34
6.Santokie 7.66
7.Joseph 7.75
8.Reifer 7.76
9.Cottrell 7.83
10.Primus 7.89
11 McCoy 8.08
12 Lalor 8.08

I thought so and also believe that Pollard could bowl 4 overs so,drop Williams and bring in a batsman, surely Pollard couldn't do worse.
Posters believed that the team was balanced. Some says the batting was light. But WI posted 207 - good score, aided by very poor Indian fielding. With Rohit getting out cheaply, WI had a chance, until Kesrick and Polly started to vex Virat...and he got into stride and before you know it VOR was backing Team India. You have plenty 'dis Done' threads, and then the ubiquitous questions regarding the team selection, coaching, turning the corner etc. all surface with this one loss. Now if W won, can you imagine the posts.
No how much Virat mek threads.
He and polly seemed to motivate Virat.

So is partly Polly's fault?

Agreed a good score by WI even my Bangladeshi coworker looked surprised that WI actually scored so much against India. Anyway, to be fair to Williams and the selectors, Williams prior to this match had some good outings for WI. Now is an ambivalent decision whether to drop or keep him but not to bowl him during death situations.
This may shock many but actually the team peaked during this loss today.
Beyond this game, I expect the total implosion to happen as we receive our thrashing over the next few days.
Stock up on your eggnog.. bad days are ahead.
Polly should have probably bowled himself earlier in the match, had he bowled atleast 2-3 in the middle he would have had more flexibility in the death overs with overs from Cotterel and Holder to back up Williams once it was obvious that the Indians were targeting him. Also very disappointed that Walsh Jr didnt bowl his full quota of overs, the captain has to back his young leggy he didnt today.
I guess K Paul will play next game, Williams confidence might be low.
please save some cursing and excuses for the next 5 games to come because it will be plenty more licks for west indies with this fake captain.
