What's the names of some of the old time calypsonians or singers that sang those classic Christmas tunes ,going back into 50's or before?
I forgot their names, I had threads many Christmases ago, but slips my memory.

Good thread. Here are two that I recall my late father singing and dancing to from my early days, one from T&T and the other from Ja.
Lord Christo - Frozen Chicken Chest and Count Zebra - Bedbug
Strictly speaking, the latter is really Mento, but many Jamaicans used to call it Calypso anyway.

Lord Christo also had a big hit with A Kaiso called : " The LandLord ". which
was a big hit .
The question was asked about Christmas calypsos 1950 and before
Ppl here responding with calypsos from the 1980s and 1990s and others with calypsos that are non Christmas related.
Tell Santa Claus Nap Hepburn early 1960s
A Party for Santa Claus Lord Nelson early 1960s
Father Christmas Mighty Spoiler 1950s
Santa Claus ain have no Wife Mighty Terror 1960s
The one legendary and famous calypso from the 1950s is definitely Kitchener's Drink a Rum which was created when Kitch was residing in London.
Terror's Santa Claus ain had no wife is sung in the old traditional minor key style of the 1930s and 1940s and also in a style suited for pan....brilliant!
