I am not aware of what American Airlines charge from NY to Guyana.

In reply to Dukes

The study goes on to reference American Airlines as being on its own exploitation mission, targeting mainly employees and others related to the oil exploration operations currently ongoing in Guyana, further burdening Guyana, given that the country is responsible for oil exploration expenses, including those for travel and accommodation.

sad

What is your point?

I am not interested in American Airlines. Please tell me and show me that the entire premise of the article is FALSE and that CAL is not using the Guyanese traveling public to subsidize their air bridge between Trinidad and Tobago.

In reply to Dukes

Simple solution, don't fly with CAL.

As a Trini, I am paying the same fare every one pays. It's the traveler's choice should they find it excessive find other means of travel.

American is doing the same as CAL, no difference between both entities. Why chastise CAL and Not AA?

I am not portraying the article as false
other entities/ Governments subsidize various sections in budgets. Donald is using your tax to give to his farmers.

Time to visit Pullo in Washington and protest.

JOJO 2020-01-01 23:37:07

This is not exploitation. This is the airline business.

Airlines attempt to squeeze the the most profit out of given routes, if they can and when they can. At the same time, they may deliberately operate certain routes at the a loss, because it may be more important to simply maintain the routes that to make a profit off the routes. CAL may be maintaining the Trinidad routes at a lower cost because it wants to use the Trinidad routes as justification for government support, if it needs that support. It may be charging higher fees for the Guyana routes simply because it can. Delta/AA/United/Emirates...whoever, would have acted no differently.

Person A is traveling from JFK to Tokyo. Person B is traveling from JFK to Hanoi, with a stop in Tokyo. Person A’s Ticket may cost more than Person B’s.

Yes but they appear distraught as if CAL should lose money. The TT government actively subsidized the Tobago Route... so over to the Guyana Gov’t cool

Barry 2020-01-02 09:13:27

Explanation- US Govt refused permission for non-stop... Guyana Government couldn’t care to lobby... rolleyes
